“Cheap, not so cheery”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

Travelled with a group of friends and we had 3 rooms in all. 2 of the rooms were extremely large with extra beds, and were adequately clean. However, the room that we got was extremely disappointing as it was small and not on par with the others, despite all having the same rate.

The hotel is in a resident zone, and since we had a rental car we had to park just outside the zone. That normally shouldn't be a problem, but we now have to contest a fine issued by the authorities as we weren't aware that we needed permission to enter the zone even to drop off / pick up our luggage. The hotel didn't inform us of this when we checked, and now despite repeated attempts (written in Italian) to the hotel to assist us with this matter, (as all they need to do is fax the authorities & confirm that our stay was genuine) ; it has fallen on deaf ears.

The staff wasn't very helpful with tips on things to see and do, I guess it could be put down to the fact that its almost entirely a family run business and they only speak Italian.

The hotel isn't too far off from the sights of the old city, sort of 10-15mins before you start stumbling on the main squares, and half decent restaurants. For the price, it was economical, but then again it was off-season.

“Dirty diaper in cupboard is just one example...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2009

This might have been the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. It really was dirty: dead mosquitos on the walls, hairs in the shower, stains on bed linen and towels and worst of all: we found a dirty baby diaper in one of the cupboards!

Staff was not friendly or helpful in any way. Location could have been better as well. Unfortunately we booked this hotel in advance (due to high season occupancy we wanted to be sure of a place to stay), but I'm sure there are much better places in the same price range.

“Disgusting”

First time I give "Terrible" rate to the hotel. For the price I paid - 70 euro - it is a complete disaster. Very old, cold room, no usual facilities like hair dryer. Hot water was almost not available in the morning. The hotel is quite far from the center, there are many-many other places to stay much closer to the historical center. I don't remember reasons why I chose this hotel, but I would recommend anybody to stay away from this place/

“Good for the price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2007

The room had a huge window that was drafty. The radiator barely put out heat, needless to say the room was always cold. Had an inroom private bath with a shower that had to stall around it. When you took a shower, the whole bathroon was wet, and the water smelled of bleach. However there was a dining room for breakfast (cereal, crackers, juice, water, tea, coffee). It was very reasonably priced (44 euro a night the week of Christmas). Easily accessible by bus. Attractions within 10-15 minutes walking.
