You will be hard pressed to find a better location in Florence. The hotel is quaint, clean, and right near all the action and sights. VERY comfortable beds and bedding. The owner is helpful with anything you might need while in Florence. You will find a simple room with all you need for a nice stay.
Great value for money.

My husband and I loved this quirky little hotel right smack in the middle of happenin' Florence. It's a budget place -- don't go if you need a modern (or spacious) elevator or, you know, chocolates on your pillow -- but also an outstanding value. The owner was so nice and helpful -- he gives you a little tour and rundown of the facilities and then you're basically on your own, which we liked. There was a fridge and a safe and a comfy bed, and everything was quite clean. And best of all, the windows opened out onto a view of the oldest building in Florence! It's walking distance to pretty much everything. You get breakfast vouchers for a great place around the corner -- pastries and coffee (great cappucino!). We went every night to have an aperitivo at Caffe Mingo around the corner, and made friends (say hi to Don Pietro!) Only downside is that we had to leave.

We find it a bit hard to share some negative opinions expressed on this forum; We have noticed how kind Remo is and how thorough. Everything has been very confortable and well equipped: fridge, electronic safety box, tv, hair dryer, free wi fi connection, excellent for the cost! Very good quality. Being central it can be noisy with late tourists but one pair ear-plugs...and problem vanquished! We loved the ambient in general and our room was perfect, very sunnied, with two panoramic windows and nice florentine floor tiles!
We would definetly recommend STH to friends and will come again. Thank you very much.

Lol, this place is great in terms of location. You are literally right in the middle of Florence and there is a great 50s style funky bar nearby called Mayday Bar - Check that place out, we loved it. Location great, cleanliness good, owner - a little bit crazy! We checked in and it took us literally 40 minutes to get him out of our room. He checked the tv remote, every lightbulb, the toilet flush, the taps....everything. He asked us not to throw our shoes on the walls (but don't take offense, he asks everyone that) and he literally showed us how to use the key to the door - because "some people turn the key left instead of right? Why would people do that?" ehhhh, who cares - we all get in in the end buddy. I got bitten 7 times in 2 days by mosquito's while in Florence so make sure you use the anti-mosquito light they have the rooms! The door on our bathroom only half closed and again, the owner showed us how to open and close the door, "hold onto the door, half way down and gently slide until it is half closed" hmmmm. Luckily my friend and I are happy go luckily and this didn't bother us. Oh and you have 50 seconds to make it up the 3 flight's of stairs - they are quite anal about electricity use. The elevator can hold one person plus one bag. emmmm, oh and when the maid comes into your room they are likely to move your garments and books etc around - maybe to test your sanity? lol. I would recommend this place to stay in for location, cleanliness, security and affordability but the owner has to loosen up a bit! :) one last thing, there is free breakfast at a lovely little bakery around the corner from the hotel and it was lovely!
