“Perfection!”

I stayed at the Relais Piazza Signoria in June 2011. This Hotel is exceptional! The owners were charming and extremely accomodating.

I stayed in the "attic room" , which is the penthouse. The room was amazing. It was approximately 50m2. It was comprised of one bedroom, one bathroom with an amazing jacuzzi tub; living room; dining room; kitchenette; and two (2) private rooftop terraces overlooking the Piazza Signora.

The room was decorated in a modern motif. Harwood floors. Marble throughout the bathroom. Tastefully decorated and quite spacious.

At the time of my stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations/expansion. However, the renovations were not intrusive of my stay at this exquisite hotel. There is a private entrance which can olnly be accessed by key, and electronic code. Security was wonderful. Also, I had rented a car during my stay, and the Hotel has an association with a parking garage that is located on the same block as the hotel. Extremely covenient, especially if you have a lot of luggage.

The location was wonderful! Centrally located in the heart of Florence. Thirty second walk to the Uffzzi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, and numreous other fantastic distractions. Also only a five minute walk from the Duomo Catherdral, Ponte Vecheccio and other historical sites.

All of my accommodations were sumptuously elegant! I would definitely stay here again, and recommend this hotel to any person that appreciates true quality.

Room Tip: The "Attic Room" - Penthouse. Best room in the house!

“Highly Recommend!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

This place was amazing! A little higher than our small budget but we decided to do it anyway and glad we did. We had a small kitchenette with hot plates and kettle - enough to make breakfast and dinner!! We had a huge king size bed and large bathroom. The location was unbeatable - right in the Piazza Del Signoria and next to the Uffuzi Gallery. Walking distance to the Galleria Del Accademia and many other sites!!!! Def will be back.

“This place is wonderfully located but once inside there are some issues”

If you want an apartment situated in the nicest part of Firenze then this location is for you. It is central, clean, modern and secure. We found the staff to be very obliging and helpful.

We were very disappointed that our apartment was an internal one (no external windows) which made the room somewhat claustrophobic, something I wasn't aware of when we booked. We did have a WiFi connection which was excellent and very welcome, but our cell phones had no reception in the room. We stayed in a Suite - No. 106.

The website is not easy to navigate and I found it difficult to make comparisons. If we were lucky enough to visit Firenze again we would stay in this establishment but would ensure that we had an external window and going by reviews would book on a higher floor.

We ate ONLY ONCE at the restaurant downstairs. We felt ripped off and intimidated by the woman who charged for the meal. No price was listed for coffee or drinks and when we ordered one of each were horrified to find the coffee was 5 Euro. If she had perhaps tried to smile we might have enjoyed the food a little more. They had no business cards available so can't list the name of the establishment. Same for Harry's Bar across the road. Beautiful atmosphere, lovely food but the staff were so snooty as we only ordered drinks and no food.

We loved Firenze and would visit again in a flash (it's just the 20 hour plane trip that's a problem) :-))

Room Tip: We had Suite 106 which is an internal room. Be aware that you have no windows and therefore no fres...

“Location, Location, Location - you can't get better”

We stayed in Apartment 106 which was really more of a larger hotel room. The apartment is modern and clean with a kitchenette, dining table, king size bed, large LCD TV, free Wi Fi, the coldest fridge we had during our 8 week trip, a good size balcony over the back lane with no view but good for drying clothes, good air conditioning, safe, reasonable size modern bathroom with good water pressure and pretty clean. There was no couch or comfortable chairs which was a bit dissappointing. We were provided with complimentary drinks in the fridge (juice, soft drink and water) together with a basket of tea, coffee, dry bread in packets and jam. The elevator was the smallest we have ever seen and only for 2 people. The location was fantastic right on Signoria Square with lots of restaurants, shops, the river and just about anything you want close by. We would definately stay here again when next in Florence.

Room Tip: If you want a view ask for rooms that look over the square but they may be noisy otherwise ask for t...

“Perfect location but hotel needs work”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We really wanted to like this hotel. The staff was great on e-mail before arrival and really friendly once there. We were a group of 3 traveling together and rented the New Apartment, # 401, because it has two bedrooms and a living area. Well......

The bedrooms are tandem. In order to get into bedroom 2, you have to walk through bedroom 1. Bedroom 1 is not really a bedroom. It's the "living area" with two club chairs, tv, kitchenette with table and chairs, a full bathroom, and oh yes, a murphy bed. So if you are the ones in bedroom 2, you have to wait until the people in bedroom 1 are up and ready in order to use the living area. Also, both beds had very hard mattresses and pillows.

The real issue is the bathroom in bedroom 2. It is almost unusable. It's TINY - tight for one, impossible for two. There is no counter space for storage (we had to ask for a tiny table to fit under the sink), the shower does not have curtains and the glass wall/door was not installed yet, so everything just outside the shower, including the toilet, got really wet. For the record, we were not told when booking that the room was not complete. There was no central heater, so the bathroom stayed cold and damp. We measured, wall to wall, and the entrance to the bathroom was about 3.5 feet wide, and that's where the sink is. There was one towel heater installed too high to be able to properly hang towels, so they never really dried. Oh, and the hair dryer they provided didn't fit in the plugs, so we had to get an adapter from them.

The entire property looks like it's being renovated and the hotel's apartments are scattered in with "real" apartments. The hallway leading up to our room was in terrible condition, in the process of renovation with mixed surfaces, hanging wires, etc. Also, as someone else stated, the managers are there from 9am-5pm, so any issues have to be addressed then, which is exactly when we all go out and tour the city.

In all, the location, in Piazza Signoria next to the Uffizi and Palazzo Vecchio, can't be beat. I just wish the renovations were better thought out and actually complete!

Room Tip: Don't rent the new apartment! Just rent a regular room, you may have a better layout.
