For the last night of my vacation, I chose this hotel because it was close to the airport. I would not recommend it if you are just starting your stay in Florence. It is in a lousy location that you don't want to walk around in. The bus line stops right outside the hotel and the staff explains transportation options very well. Parking is free and right next store. The air conditioning in our room seemed regulated by the hotel and we were limited to its use. We complained incessantly and that was the only way we got air conditioning to work all night long. It was very frustrating. Just with the lack of air conditioning in August, I would not recommend this hotel.

Spent three nights at the Cosmopolitan Concept and was such a great stay!
The rooms are a bit small indeed but very comfortable, tastefully decorated and clean. The breakfast was also good, but the best part of the hotel are its people. All the staff was great and esp. the receptionists who gave us great tips about the city and would answer every single of my questions concerning the best way to go to Siena, or which is the cheapest company to rent a car (they actually called them all to get the cheapest rate) etc.
Concerning the location, yes it's a bit out of the way but we didn't have any trouble as the bus would take us to the centre in 10 min. and you can get tickets at the reception. There is no problem in using the bus at night as well, as mentioned somewhere. There are a lot of immigrants yes, but it is mostly families and didn't feel threatened at any point. It can be a bit noisy though on a Saturday night. Also there are no prostitutes anywhere near the hotel.
On a plus the hotel is located very close to the airport.
All these, combined with a great price made our visit to this beautiful city even better, we would certainly go back.

Spent one night in the Cosmopolitan during a one week visit to Italy. The hotel staff was very helpful, and the room spotlessly clean. Our room was more than large enough for two people. The hotel was remodeled about 3 yrs ago (according to the staff) and is very modern with several convenient touches. The bus to downtown Florence (approx 10min) stops very near the hotel entrance. Unfortunately, finding the return bus to the hotel was a bit of a challenge (we gave up after an hour, and took a cab)! Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend.

I stayed at the Cosmopolitan for a business trip this past week. My family joined me later in Florence and stayed at the same hotel for the weekend. I have to say that among the many hotels I have stayed at in Italy, Cosmopolitan has been one of the best!

Although the hotel is not in the downtown area, it's pretty close. It took me about 10 minutes to go to the downtown area (Piazza Duomo) by bus. The bus stop is right across the street and the ride costs 2 Euros if you buy the ticket on-board (and less if you purchase it in advance!). Also, the Florence Airport, to which I flew, is less than 10 minutes away. Coming from a long business trip, the last thing I wanted was to spend an hour on the way to my hotel. The Cosmopolitan is conveniently located close to the airport, the downtown area, and the main train station.

Yet the most outstanding feature to me was the hospitality of the staff. From the receptionist all the way to the manager, everyone was nice and helpful. Aside from the standard services, they helped me schedule a trip to the nearby wine country AND, when I was lost in the city, I called them and they patiently helped me find my way to my meeting. They made me feel really at home.
The room I stayed in was really nice. Considering the price range of the hotel, I was not expecting such a great room. The room was very well equipped (flat screen TV etc.) and very quite. It was also beautifully decorated. For a room like this in the middle of the city I have paid two or three times more.

All in all, the hotel is pretty nice. I have asked my company to continue working with Cosmopolitan because it's well priced, nice, and most importantly has an excellent staff! I will definitely go back!

We loved this hotel... super clean... very modern and extremely helpful staff. We checked into this hotel after a bad experience at another hotel... and were relieved when we walked in the door. Super clean room, the bathroom was very clean and modern, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff helped us navigate our way to the train the next morning with bus schedules, train schedules and maps. Also, since we were leaving before the 7 am breakfast... they put together an early breakfast just for us so that we could have a bite to eat before our trip to Rome. I really enjoyed my stay and I will always look for a concept hotel in whatever city I choose to visit.
