Like others have already stated, from the moment you enter the gates you receive a warm welcome and a friendly introduction to one of the most amazing cities in the world.
The room was huge (Iris) with it's separate amenities (kitchenette and separate bathroom) and an extremely comfortable bed, and as I am almost 2m tall, they are few and far between!
The attention provided by the hosts was great (pointing out restaurants and the local walks etc). It is very close to the Piazzale Michelanglo (less than 10 min walk) to one of the best views over Florence on top of the fact that the rest of the old city is just a (very easy) 15-20 min stroll along the river.
We really loved the place and will be looking to stay there again should (or when) we go back to Florence.

Friendly and helpful staff, spacious and clean rooms, picturesque 15 minutes walk from the centre along the river, free and convenient parking. I would definitely recommend this place.

Forget. This is the most private, quite, special place we've been. You get the "key to the house
As well as the front gate, which makes you feel like the diplomat the street suggests. The room and kichenette were immaculate. The wi-fi was great and allowed us to stay in touch, make our next reservation and just go on line with ease (we had a new tablet with us and it worked great

However, with all that, it does have some big downsides...it's really too far from all the sights. If you're like us, you like to get a lot in in one day. If you stay here, once you are out - that's it - you are out and not visiting your room again until you're day is over. No going back to the room to rest, refresh, nap, etc..

The other two problems are: no breakfast (which I did not think was going to be a problem) which turned out to be a huge problem. This is not the U.S., there are no places close by to get a bacon and egg sandwich - that is unheard of here. So going forward, I would always pick a hotel with breakfast when visiting Italy.

The next problem; no shower, bathtub with hand-held water wand in addition to regular bath choice. Let's just say it didn't work out for me (long hair).

We spent three days of our Italian honeymoon at the Residence Michelangiolo. It came highly recommended to us by a friend who runs travel and educational programs throughout Italy. We were so pleased with this place.The residence is in a neighborhood across the Arno River from Florence. We enjoyed being away from the crowds, yet a very easy and scenic walk away from all the major attractions. Our room was large by any standards with high celings, a small kitchenette and a romantic double person bath tub. Angela was extremely helpful, in every way, to support our comfort and the touring of Florence. She ordered tickets to attreactions in advance for us and made wonderful recommendations for restaurants etc to us. I would recommend The Residence to anyone . My only reservation is if I recommend this perfect place to too many people, we will not be able to get a reservation the next time we are in Florence..
