“Ideal position, pleasant staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Very good location, walking distance from all major sights. A room on ground floor available (which exactly we received), the closest to breakfast place :) Pretty chocolates presented for Befana day :)

Towels were not supplied in full from the beginning (appeared next day :)) Breakfast is quite poor and standard from day to day. Only 1 euro-socket available in the room (taken from the air-conditioner).

“Owners very accommodating/kind. Will return!”

This place recently transferred ownership to two brothers who are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They are the kind of Italians that are very warm and welcoming and will go out of their way to accommodate you. I had an issue (that had nothing to do with the hotel) and one of them was really so kind to me and completely went out of his way to help me out. The world needs more people like this! A very excellent price for a hotel in Florence. The rooms are basic and very clean. The hot water lasted (and I take long showers) and the water pressure was excellent. The breakfast is coffee, croissant and yogurt. We never made it down in time, but they still happily provided it. Once they even brought it up to our room, which I thought was so nice, esp. as we were on the last floor and they don't have an elevator. They keep cost down by only having maid service every 3 nights. But if you ask nicely for an extra pillow or towel, they will likely give it to you. They speak good English. The location is excellent, 3 min. walking distance to the Ufizzi and Accademia museums and main squares. There are tons of restaurants nearby as well. There's also a butcher shop where you can get a panino (great fresh sandwich) for about 3 euros down the street they can direct you to. And a vintage shop around the corner. If your into history, definitely check out the Santa Croce Church in the nearby plaza. It's basically a burial site for famous/important Italians like Galileo, Machiavelli, and Rossini, with an adjoining museum. There are also at least 3-4 clubs/lounges around the corner that seemed pretty active at night. But the street noise didn't reach the hotel. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends!

“One night stay”

This is a budget hotel with basic rooms. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast is outside and is good. The rooms are small and the en-suite is basic. There is parking behind the hotel at no charge. There is a t.v in the room. We had a connecting type room with two bunk beds for the kids. If you want to experience a bit of history then this is why you will stay here. We liked it for the novelty value but we did feel like we had to keep the kids quite. No-one said anything if they made noise but we kept the quite all the same. Would stay again for one night.

Room Tip: There is a lift for the higher floors, parking is behind the hotel and we were not charged. Our roo...

“Fabulous location”

Fantastic location! Very basic hotel which is good for the budget traveller. The breakfast was not good - very basic, pre-packaged and too sweet. Parking the car was a real problem as we hadn't made prior arrangements with the hotel and we were quoted £25 per night. The staff were very friendly, spoke good English and most of all were most helpful.

“Great little hotel at a reasonable price”

The location was excellent, very close to the Uffizio and Santa Croce Church. The staff was helpful, the room was clean and a reasonacble size with a small but adequate en-suite bathroom. Althought it is located in the old town the room and bath looked new and everything worked perfectly.
