“Owners very accommodating/kind. Will return!”
This place recently transferred ownership to two brothers who are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They are the kind of Italians that are very warm and welcoming and will go out of their way to accommodate you. I had an issue (that had nothing to do with the hotel) and one of them was really so kind to me and completely went out of his way to help me out. The world needs more people like this! A very excellent price for a hotel in Florence. The rooms are basic and very clean. The hot water lasted (and I take long showers) and the water pressure was excellent. The breakfast is coffee, croissant and yogurt. We never made it down in time, but they still happily provided it. Once they even brought it up to our room, which I thought was so nice, esp. as we were on the last floor and they don't have an elevator. They keep cost down by only having maid service every 3 nights. But if you ask nicely for an extra pillow or towel, they will likely give it to you. They speak good English. The location is excellent, 3 min. walking distance to the Ufizzi and Accademia museums and main squares. There are tons of restaurants nearby as well. There's also a butcher shop where you can get a panino (great fresh sandwich) for about 3 euros down the street they can direct you to. And a vintage shop around the corner. If your into history, definitely check out the Santa Croce Church in the nearby plaza. It's basically a burial site for famous/important Italians like Galileo, Machiavelli, and Rossini, with an adjoining museum. There are also at least 3-4 clubs/lounges around the corner that seemed pretty active at night. But the street noise didn't reach the hotel. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends!
