We loved our stay at Il Giglio, it has everyhting that you need. Good space in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean, reception desk very nice. Buses are easy to figure out so it's nice to be away from the downtown area that has all the traffic and noise(10 min. drive). No irons available and a hard bed are the only negatives. I recommend anyone looking for a vacation that gives you a taste of the way Florentine's live. The taxi ride to the airport with an extra charge for being so early was 28 Euro. Taxi ride to downtown from the hotel is 10-15 Euro depending on traffic. I felt very safe at anytime of the day and night.

I spent 3 monthes living in this hotel and was perfect for those people who want to enjoy sometime in a fiorentine way. The reception is very good. The neighborhood is very fiorentine! They are very helpful. The Residence is very close to the Fiorentine Stadium and it is worthwile to go to some soccer game which is 3 blocks away. Before the game, join the Fiorentine cheergang at the Villani Pasticceria. You will never forget it! They are very friendly and peaceful. It is unforgetable.

This place was awesome! Large high-ceiling aparmtent studio with a full and very functional kitchen. The bathroom is small, but the sink is seperated from the toilet and shower by a door which is very practical. The view is not bad... to see a nice view you have to stick your head out the window. The location is AMAZING! On a pedestrian street, walking distance to EVERYTHING in FLorence. The place is bright, nicely painted and decorated, very nice and new Ikea-style furniture. We were there 5 nights and loved it. Valeria, the agent, was very helpful, gave us a map, highlighted places to eat and visit. The office was nearby if we had any other needs or questions. The bed is very hard. We just loved it there, there was a second single bed where we dumped all our stuff. The pillows and blankets were excellent and the air conditioner as well. There's an elevator and it's on the top floor, 4th floor. There is noise in the morning from the church bells that you can't hide from. Ear plugs recommended.

We highly recommend this property to anyone interested in being close to Florence's major attractions but far enough away to get a taste of non-tourist Italian culture.
