We arrived at midnight from Pisa airport train to be told that (in Italian) the bathroom doesn't work and shown on map a nearby hotel that we were to go to. Odd 2 star hotel with dubious fire safety. We were never informed as to the reason for our move and were nearly charged more money. Poor and shoddy treatment. I emailed the Alinari on my return to give them a chance to put things right. No reply. I would not book with them.

the hotel is close to the Santa Maria Novella, so it's a perfect location to start your sightseeing of Firenze with everything reachable in a few minutes on foot.
The rooms are very nice and CLEAN and the customer service is great. The people who work for reception are available and helpful. They also offer a nice breakfast in the morning

This hotel is situated in a great location, approximately a 3 minute walk from the Florence train station (Santa Maria Novella). We arrived at the hotel at around 2:00 pm. Our room was not ready yet. So, we dropped off the bags and headed to Pisa. When we got back at around 6:00 pm the room was ready. The room was fairly basic with a small TV and a small bathroom. It was very quiet as well and we got a good nights sleep. The hotel is on the fourth floor of the building and a small elevator that fits 2 people is available.

The Duomo (dome) and all the other attractions in Florence are 10 to 15 minute walk from this hotel. The area appeared safe and we were comfortable taking our camera and valuables out to take photographs, etc anywhere around Florence.

All in all this hotel is in an extremely good location with reasonably good rooms and breakfast.

The location of this hotel was excellent! It was a quick 5 minute walk from the train station and easy to find. After we dropped off our luggage, we headed out to visit the breathtakiing Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Galleria Accademia, etc.. Everything was in easy walking distance. The outdoor market near the hotel is fabulous. Be sure to negotiate with the vendors to get good deals. Tons of leather (jackets, belts, purses, etc.), pashminas and scarves, glass/ribbon necklaces, glass rings, etc.

Overall, all of the rooms in the Italian hotels we stayed in were small. This one was no different; however, it did have a nice bath tub to help with much needed relaxation after walking all day. Our room was along the street and was very noisy at night. However, just close the three separate windows and all of the noise was blocked out. No air conditioning so the fresh air was block out as well, although the air was not that fresh due to all of the car fumes.

Breakfast was good with many choices...pastries, bread, meat, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea, etc. I have to admit that yes you can see the Duomo from the hotel, but it was not all that spectacular.

Anyway, all-in-all, I would recommend this hotel as it was clean and in easy walking distance to everything!
