Stayed here for four ridiculously overpriced nights. We were on the top floor, which in Italian city hotels can often mean the poorest quality rooms in the building (having booked hotels before based on room pictures on the website to find only one floor has been renovated and the rest of the place is a disaster). However, I am not sure if the rule applies in this case as I did not see any other rooms on the other two floors, but for the price of this place it was atrocious! The room was tiny, and I mean tiny! Both sides of the bed (which slides about when you were in it) were not accessible at the same time due to the wall. The toilet was clearly a converted cupboard and was grubby at best, with a shower that flooded due to a malfunctioning drain. The whole hotel was old and a bit run-down. The air conditioning unit was only partially working and looked older than me. There was a fridge in the room but it was barely big enough to fit a small bottle of water in and wasn't cold. Although I never use one on holiday there was a tv in the room, and when I checked out of curiousity on the last day like most other things it didn't work either. Breakfast options were limited and what was on offer wasn't up to much. One female member of staff was helpful but the rest seemed to just be going through the motions. It is very very loud in the surrounding area and can be difficult to get a restful night's sleep. In short don't bother staying here!

This hotel was very close to the train station and within easy walking distance. Our room was very adequate and clean. Nothing super fancy, but great. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet served in the courtyard every morning for it had a great variety for everyone's tastebuds. Being close to all the attractions made this hotel ideal for location and value. We would stay here again.

We have stayed with friends in double and triple room of this hotel for two days during our two week Italy trip. It's good located - not in the main touristic center but very close to it, staying in quiet location full of stores, restoraunts and etc., and very comfortable walking distance to Santa Maria Novella (it takes about 15 minutes if you are with heavy luggage and only 8-10 minutes if you are not). Quiet close to it you could find Mercato Centrale where you could buy fresh fruits, cheese (hmmm), olive oil and all other different tasty italian products. Also on your way toward Ufizzi and Palazzo Vecchio (about 15 minutes walk) you could see a lot of street shops where you could buy Florence leather and souvenirs. Hotel itself has an elevator so it was very comfortable, the room (triple) was quiet spacy, with clean bathroom, comfortable beds, wardrobe, safe. Breakfast was also good for italian standarts. They have wi-fi internet in public areas which was free. And what's very very important they have great staff and always greeting us with smile, were very helpful in directions and advises. Thanks to all. I hope somewhen we will be back.

I stayed at this hotel when visiting Italy with my parents, in April. It's what we expected for the money. Staff was very friendly and always ready to help. It's walking distance from the street fair, central market and train station, but the street is not the nicest at night. The room was simple and could be cleaner. Bathroom had dust balls from years, the water in the tub wouldn't go away, so having a shower wasn't the best experience. We noticed that there were hotels of the same level closer to the tourist attractions, so I'd probably look for a different option if I went to Florence again.
