“I still receive best wishes from this hotel...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2011

Maybe its quite late to write a review about this hotel, but since I still receive quite a number a best wishes, like Christmas, New Year, and recently Valentine remind me to share experience about this hotel.
As we travel during Easter week April last year, I booked this hotel through easytobook.com and also contact directly to this hotel via email. Location was superd, very closed to train station and night market around the hotel. But entrance to this hotel was quite make me confuse since the don't have any loby or big signboard at the building. The hotel was a apartment building that was renovated to become hotel which is quite common in Italy. So you have to look clearly at their picture and use a google map as reference. Se arrive quite late around 7:00pm. Once arrival i used the intercom at the main door to ask them to open the door. Initially we book standard room with shared bedroom for 50 Euro, but the owner of this hotel give us a big room for 3 person with attached bedroom at the same price. Most thanks for that. Room was cleans and plus they include us with tea maker facilities and cookies which is save us for breakfast next day. In short with 50 Euro per night was so affordable for backpackers like me.

“ok hotel/hostel, great location, good place to stay for daytrips”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

great place to stay for daytrips to pisa etc... train station down the road and shops, restaurants and markets... nice hotel rooms and ensuite... free internet, affordable to stay here since it is the same price to stay here as in a dormitory at a hostel, not bad.

“where is the receptionist?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

The ho(s)tel was cheap, clean and centrally located.

The only thing is that when we arrived at Soggiorno Gloria - after ringing the doorbell and phoning the reception for 10 long minutes with no reply - we started to think the hotel did not exist and we had been the victims of a fraud. Again, it took the receptionist no less than 10 minutes to deign to reply and open the door, and that was because he saw my missed calls and called me back on my mobile phone. "Sorry, I was in the toilet", he said.

“Expect a hostel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

This 'so called' guest house is in fact really a hostel. While it's clean and the staff are helpful (when they are around that is), the room and building are minimal and run-down. We did not have hot water the first day we were there. Also, the free internet didn't work for a while. At night, it was so noisy outside (cars, trucks, people and whatever)! Definitely not for a light sleeper.

“Close to Train Station, Siteseeing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2009

This is a budget lodge, but all the same it was clean and had very good A/C which is all important when travelling in Italy in August. It was a very short walk from the main train station, which was great with our packs. The lady who checked us in was brief, and wouldn't let me use my C/C at first (I eventually got to charge it ;-)), but otherwise friendly. The room itself was clean and comfy. The bathroom is large, and the room also has a fridge which is great when you are budget travelling. We only stayed one night, but it was a good experience. This room is convenient to the train and to the city center, as easy walk to both.
