Hotel Monica is about 5 minutes walk from the station and located on Via Faenza which leads almost directly to the famous Florence market through which you walk to get through to the Basilica and Il Duomo, another 3 minutes walk. It really can't be beaten for location. The rooms are not huge but they are certainly comfortable with all necessary amenities. Both times we stayed there we were in rooms fronting the street and we never heard anything that would wake us. The beds were comfortable and a good size. The breakfast is certainly adequate, comprising of coffee, juices, cereal, pastries, yoghurts and some sliced meats and cheeses. Who needs more? There is also a lovely and generously sized terrace on which you could have breakfast. The staff are friendly and very accommodating...they found us alternative accommodation for 1 night as I wanted to extend our stay in Florence and they were booked out. The only very minor downside is that it is located on the first floor with some rooms on the second floor, and there is no lift. But you should just prepare for this in advance and you will have a great time in this lovely B and B.
