We were a little worried about the location of this hotel, but it turned out to be an easy bus ride down to the centre of Florence and an easy walk or bike ride to see the statue of David. While more oriented to the business traveller than the tourist we still found the staff very helpful in organising tickets to the main attractions and for restaurant recommendations for the area, which is more local so advice was useful. They have bicycles you can use, and there is a bicycle laneway just across the very large intersection outside the hotel. Our room was away from the street and very quiet, a good size and the bed comfortable. Breakfast could be taken inside or out in a very pretty courtyard and there was a good choice of food. The only annoyance was that wifi wasn't free. So not the quintessential Florence experience, but a good stay for a few nights.

We booked this hotel on the back of the reviews on this site and unfortunately we were very disappointed.

The hotel is certainly immaculately clean (though items such as bathrobes were missing and I had to keep asking for these) and I found the location fine (not too far out unlike some of the reviews) however I felt the service was extremely poor...

After a day of site-seeing we returned to our room hoping for a nap before dinner. We turned down the temperature on the aircon but unforunately this seemed to set off some sort of alarm in the room.
We called the front desk who sent up the porter to have a look. After much tinkering he shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn't do anything. After much to-ing and fro-ing we insisted that we be given another room - after all it would be impossible to sleep with the alarm going off all night! We stressed to the porter, (forewarned by the reviews on tripadvisor), that we did not want a room at the front of the hotel. The room we were shown was on the first floor, directly above the lobby at the front of the building!
I refused the room and asked to be shown another - as you can imagine this was extremely frustrating and we had to cart our own bags, after repacking them, from room to room.
The room we were then shown was on the third floor and although this time it was quiet it was much smaller than our original room and didn't have the bathtub we had before only a shower. As we couldn't face wandering around further to another room we agreed to stay in this one.

I would have understood us being given a lesser room if the hotel had been fully booked. As it was it was practically empty and so it would not have hurt them upgrade us to a nicer room to make up for the inconvenience. I also found the staff extremely unhelpful verging on rude about the problem and we were treated as though we were the nuiscance.

I have stayed in Florence several times before but like to try new places hence this booking. I really wish I hadn't. I would not recommend this hotel and certanly would never go back.

We found this hotel by luck at 11 p.m on December 22 after we left our previously booked hotel which turned out to be a nightmare. We were traveling with a party of 9, 3 of which were children and desperate to find a place after leaving the Hotel Giglio without even checking in. Lucca, the gentlemen at the front desk was wonderful and immediately gave us 4 rooms (3 doubles and a triple) so we could settle in. The doubles were 64 euros per night with breakfast included. The rooms were clean, spacious and modern. The bathrooms were large and well equipped. The hotel is an easy 15 minute walk to the historic center. The breakfast was the best we had during our trip. This hotel was a great value and when I return to Florence I will definitely stay here.

Just one night on business in Florence. A nice hotel in the traditional Italians style.

There are smarter hotels in the works but for this price, it's a gem. However, charging for wifi? Come on, this is the 21st century folks, add a couple of euros to the price and let visitors have free wifi.

Increasingly this is a reason to rule a hotel out and look elsewhere. There really is no justification on this day and age, so please, offer free wifi and I'll return.
