Where do I start... advertised with airconditing which is ancient and doesn't work, this hotel is disgusting. The breakfast was a joke, very bad biscuits and cordial basically. The bathroom was very old and filthy, the window security shutters did not close, I could go on and on, oh and it is at least 40 minutes walk to the centre not 20 minutes like the advertising says. I never write bad reviews but I felt I needed to warn others not to make the same mistake I did. Just do yourself a huge favour and don't stay at this hotel.

We arrived late in evening and the gentleman at reception was most helpful with car parking and our load of luggage - raining too!
Room was fine - clean and comfortable and everything in good order. Breakfast was about average for a 'continental'
Joy to meet the lovely cheerful Sheila @ reception. She gave us maps and advice for the buses and directions to the main attractions for our short stay.
The bus into the centre is about 150m away. We really can't comment on the return trip by bus as we enjoyed the walk back alongside the Arno - yes you need to enjoy a walk - it is not a five minute stroll but we found the paths beneath the trees through the parks no problem and we are no longer youngsters!
All in all reasonable value for money & enjoyed Florence

Comfortable and convenient for my purposes - one night and breakfast. Quite suitable. My room was clean and comfortable. Sheila on reception very welcoming. Loved Florence.

I have to say, I was incredibly shocked that this was rated as a 3* hotel after we arrived. My boyfriend and I had booked this hotel after the company we booked with said it would be a room with a river view, but it wasn't even on the river, and our view was of the building across the road! It was an incredibly noisy hotel, and we could hear people tramping up and down stairs all night, and a toilet flushing sounded like a monsoon! The room was not particularly clean either. We ended up staying for just one night, and moved to the much nicer Hotel Silla a mile down the road on the other side of the river. Now that hotel I would recommend to everyone, but anyone actually wanting to enjoy their trip to Florence should avoid Da Verrazzano like the plague. I agree with everyone who has termed it a 'youth hostel'. Horrid.
