Comfort, convenient, economical, safe, clean and walking distance from (the city center, train station, supermarket, restaurants, bars, museums, etc) ...something all tourist look for when travelling and here we were able to find all of them in one place. I have stayed here other times alone, this time I was there with my partner and he loved it as much as I do. Thank you for the great stay and we are looking forward to our next visit to Florence and our next stay at Hotel Il Bargellino.

Our room faced the community terrace and had its own bath. It was clean, pleasant and comfortable. Facing the terrace was a special plus. The hosts, Carmel and Pino, were so friendly and helpful with museum reservations and our many other questions. We could not ask for better service. Mama's Bar, just down the street, provided a perfect cappuccino and croissant to start the morning, and a little trattoria just steps away was a great place for a late dinner. I highly recommend Il Bargellino and will go back again ASAP.

We stayed at Il Bargellino for two nights, and had a very comfortable stay. When we reached Florence, it was quite late at night, and we walked a short distance from the train station to the hotel, and the hosts had the room ready and waiting for us. The room was clean and comfortable - this was our only requirement as we planned to be out in the city all day and return to the room just to sleep and recharge for the next day. Our room faced the street, but we kept the windows closed and left the fan running - had no trouble sleeping at all. We paid 70 Euros a night (double with shared bath) - great value for money in a tourist town. The owners were very responsive right from the start - Carmel's email communications were very prompt and helpful, She helped us reserve tickets for the museums as well. During our stay, we had minor issues with the wifi and universal adapter and they fixed it for us instantly. I'd recommend Il Bargellino to anyone looking for great value for money and clean room in a convenient location.

My favourite hotel in Italy. Very affordable, but clean and charming. A incredibly welcoming hotel, with a great atmosphere, and fantastic hosts. Being not terribly well at the time, I meant to have a quiet couple of nights, but ended up spending most evenings chatting or dining with either my hosts or the other guests.

Everything said about Carmel and Pino is absolutely true. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. And patient - as Pino certianly needed to be as he added to my small stock of Italian words each morning.

Please remember that's it's an old-school hotel - you're not going to get an instant online booking, but it's well worth the effort to get one.
