I'm not sure I'll ever stay anywhere else in Florence. This hotel hits on all levels - location, price, quality, breakfast, facilities. Our room was nicely furnished and decorated. The breakfast was excellent with all sorts of healthy options. It's hard to beat the location. It's a 3 minute walk to the train station, and you can be at most landmarks within 20 minutes. Stores and restaurants are very close. The Napoleon room is a nice warm place to relax in the evening.

We have travlelled to many Countries and this hotel is the best. Absolutely faultess and we would absolutely stay again and again and again...
We stayed in their family room which were two inteconnecting rooms each with their own bathroom. The beds were so comfortable and the decor was like a palace!! The breakfast was fabulous and all the little things (including the intimate cleanser!!) were nice touches.

This hotel has no faults - it was perfect. I stayed there for 5 nights in the middle of August 2011 and given the high temperatures the experience of walking into the cool reception was amazing. The reception staff were extremely courteous and helpful at all times.

Through Trip Advisor we asked for a room with a view of the piazza and they did not disappoint. The room itself had a double aspect view which was truly amazing. The bathroom was covered in marble, floor to ceiling. Breakfasts were excellent, and the rooftop terrace was ideal to bring your own bottle and sit on the rooftop taking in the rooftops of the city including all the cathedrals.

As for location, Hotel Santa Maria Novella is a 5 minute walk from the train station, and unlike the reputation some hotels have for proximity to train stations, this is very different. From the hotel you are only 2 minutes walk from the Duomo in the centre of the city - in fact you are only 10 to 15 minutes from all of the main attractions including the Academia, Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio. You could not ask for a better location for a city holiday.

My family of 4 (2 adult children) stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel for 2 nights in December 2011. It is located approx 400m from the train station so it is very easy to walk. As you enter, you notice the guest sitting room to your left with fire lit in winter. The reception staff were excellent and bags attended to by consierge. We were provided 2 rooms that were interconnected by a door. There were 2 bathrooms and the decor was sumptuous. The hotel has some interesting levels but lift access makes this easy. Breakfast is served each day in the stunning dining room. The hotel is within walking distance of all Florences attractions. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and look forward to staying at the Santa Maria Novella on our next visit to Florence.
