I need to start this review by noting that I am not picky with hotels at all. All I expect is a plain room that is quiet, I don't expect a designer room or for anyone to go above and beyond for me. Having said that, I was very disappointed with the customer service in this hotel. I had stayed at this hotel before, and this was my second time. At around 9PM a gentlemen showed up to do some construction work directly outside our room, which was located on the 5th floor. My girlfriend and I both thought that it must be a quick repair job and the noise would stop eventually. Unfortunately, this was not the case and the construction continued until at least 11:30pm. Some might think that this is not a big deal, but when you have to be up at 5AM for an early train, it is a huge bother. Providing a quiet room should be one of the basic things a hotel does, and this hotel failed.
In the morning when I brought the situation up with the person working the front desk, I was told that he did not hear anything. This was wonderful news, as I was assured that this particular employee had a restful night and would then be able to provide some sort of compensation, or at least an apology. Again, not the case. I explained to him that our room was on the 5th floor, and that he, being on the 1st floor, would probably not have heard anything. I was told again that they did not have any repair or construction works going on. At this point we simply had to leave to catch our train. I told the employee that I would be writing a negative review, and here it is. I hope that he then proceeded to go up to the 5th floor to take a look at the mini construction site outside our room, but this is wishful thinking.
In short, this hotel is okay, the location and rooms reviewed separately would probably receive at least 4 stars. However, being implicitly called a liar at 6am after an un-restful night is simply insulting. I can therefore not recommend this hotel. You can probably find better.
