we stayed there in early of June this year. we was given a double room with two separate beds in two ends of the room. it was more like a closet rather than a room, never met the description and expectation. the receptionist explained the double room in their hotel means a room with two separate single beds. after a long argument, he said he would talk to the owner to change the room on next day. we got a real double room on the second day, but it was dark and smell. the night time shift staff was OK, but the day time staff was rude. although the location was convenience, there are many hotels located around. it is not the only choice.

After reading several of the reviews for this hotel, we did not know what to expect. What we found was a hotel three blocks from the train station, in a very nice plaza. Our room was a double that had a firm double bed, plus a twin bed, which we used to store/sort things. The bathrooms/showers are shared. But that turned out to be fine. The room came with great, heavy towels. There is warm water for the showers, and a sink in the room. All the fixtures, from the toilets throught the sinks seemed to be brand new.
We found the place very clean. We also found the guys at the front dest very helpful. And there is a nice continental breakfast, which includes bread, jam, cheese, orange juice and all the coffee/chocolate you want from an automatic machine.
In short, we were very pleased with the hotel and the room, especially for the price. From the hotel, you can walk to anything in Florence. The location is very convenient.
We are an advanced aged American couple. We recommend the hotel, based on experience in early June 2011. We had a very nice time in Florence, and Hotel Florence was a big plus to the visit.
The place has free Internet, but we were able to use an unsecured network from somewhere that was very fast and reliable. We did not end up using the Hotel's wi-fi, which we were told might or might not work in the rooms. We used the one that worked right in the room.

Checked in tonight for a four night stay, checking out tomorrow and going elsewhere. Here are the reasons:
1. We have been put in the hotels sister hotel (La Noce) and it is sub standard to the hotel booked
2. The walls are so thin we can hear conversations from front desk and from the room next door, each time a guest returns to the hotel a bell is rung which can be heard in our room (Loudly) and the neighbor snores
3. The electric sockets are dangerously hanging off the walls.
4. The room has marks all up the walls that could be cleaned off.
5. There is a strong damp/mildew smell in our room and in the hotel (They spray air freshener constantly but then it smells really strongly of that)
6. I have asked for the AC or fan to be turned on but they cant seem to locate the remote (This was on the amenities list)
7. The photos showing the hotel are nothing like what the accommodation is like. Maybe ten years ago but not now.
8. There is rot under the window sash and that is making the room smell (External shutters are in disrepair)
9. The view from or window is of AC cooling towers and rubbish on a iron roof. If they do turn on the AC it will be very loud (Lucky they cant find the remotes I suppose)
10. I was under the impression that breakfast was part of the stay but even if there is breakfast I have no idea where this will take place I am sure that the is no facility to offer this anyway
11. There is no hair drier as was stated and my girlfriend will scare me in the morning without such apparatus
12. The amount we have paid for the room is HUGELY inflated for the service offered

We are young and easy to please. Not happy and leaving asap.

Florence is nice though.

Notwithstanding the special request and confirmation letter on the room with private bathroom, when entering our room we found out that there is no bathroom at all!!! Asking for an explanation the manager replied - it was a mistake. When we told that we want an ensuite bathroom room no matter the price woud be, they still could not offer us anything - so it is very probable they dont have such rooms at all but still are offering in their adds. We had to find another hotel and we successfully did it!
