We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff are wonderful and buffet breakfast was great even though it was just brioche, yogurt, and capucchino. You could have all you wanted. The rooms were fine, nothing fancy at all. The hotel is older, but situated a block from the train station and easy walking distance to all the major tourist attractions. Bring bug repellent if you're inclined to keep windows open at night -- no screens on the windows and we had to swat a few mosquitos. If you have a room at the end of the hall you may not be able to use the wireless internet in your room. We couldn't get connected in our room, so just took the computer to the breakfast room and used it there. If you're looking for a place to sleep at the end of a day of walking and sightseeing, this hotel is fine. If you want creature comforts, look elsewhere.

Hotel Lombardi is located very close to Santa Maria Novella station. There is a nearby supermarket and plenty of places close by to eat. It is also only a short walk so the main tourist attractions.

The rooms themselves have names on the door labeled after famous artists. This was a nice twist. Our room was relatively clean and of a decent size although the shower was very small. Staff were friendly and provided us with a map and a few pointers on places to visit. They also answered all our questions on Florence without any fuss. A simple breakfast was also provided.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel for people looking for a conveniently located and reasonably priced hotel

Hotel Lombardi Florence Italy has bed bugs. Please do not spend your hard earn money on this dirty unclean hotel. The mattress have bed bugs and the staff does not care. The rooms are noisy. At night you will hear people talking at the front desk and the desk phone ringing. Do not stay at this hotel unless you want to bring bed bugs back home.
