Location is excellent, nearby to everything worth of seeing in Florence. Nice staff & breakfast. I have already booked another stay in Beatrice and look forward to see if my friends will like ti as well!

I stayed at Hotel Beatrice from Sept 24-28. It is a family-run hotel and Constantino, the owner, welcomed us warmly. Rooms are ok, bathroom was bigger than I expected, the location was close to excellent. When I checked out, however, I was slapped with a 3% surcharge for using my credit card. I was never informed that there would be such a surcharge. The wife - well, the last thing you can say about her is - charming. I am not staying in this hotel again (and will advise my friends not to), until Constantino divorces his wife.

This hotel is a five minute walk from the main train station in Florence which is wonderful when dragging your bags behind you. You can find a ton of restaurants, grocery stores and a short walk to the main sites from this location. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the staff very warmly in which we received a map of florence and the main attractions were pointed out for our ease of travel.

To get into the hotel you must buzz the staff for them to open the main door, we were told that after 1am you can not get back into the hotel...so not sure what you do if your planning on staying out later? However this wasn't an issue for us as we were always in bed by 11pm! You can not take your room key with you outside of the hotel, so this is why you must be buzzed in. The elevator is very old and is a lot of fun to use if your not claustrophobic.

Our tours started at 8 am which is the time the breakfast started, so we didn't make use of the breakfast facilities. I am a very light sleeper and the garbage trucks dumping the glass and garbage at 5am wasn't very pleasant. As well you can hear the other guests very clearly in the halls and showers running is quite loud. I had ear plugs to help so be warned if your a light sleeper.

Overall, enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

I can't say that I loved the Hotel Beatrice, but it definitely served our purposes. It was close to the train station, which was convenient for our business travel. The staff was, indeed, just as nice as other reviewers commented. However, don't think that this place is exactly a luxury hotel. It is pretty outdated and minimalist, the breakfast is just adequate, and it takes some walking up stairs to get there. The walls are also rather thin, so I wouldn't choose this hotel for a light sleeper. Overall, it is a convenient place for a stopover in Florence, but I wouldn't stay here for sightseeing or a romantic vacation.
