We had no experience of Florence but were quickly dazzled by the location of the apartments next to the signature sight of Florence. Yes, really we looked out on the Pont Vecchio from floor to ceiling windows and it was just about fifty metres away. After some confusion about there being no means of heating the water to make tea with the tea bags provided we found the reception staff to be very helpful indeed with sorting out transfer to station and getting the wifi on my iPhone workingThe maids came twice a day to service the apartment and were cheery and friendly . We were in a studio apartment which was just enormous and had stove, microwave and dishwasher. As an Australian I like my tea with milk and neither fresh nor long life was provided however upon request I was given some fresh free from the kitchen. Ditto a washing machine. This has always been one of the main reasons for getting an apartment but there was none and nor was there an iron which was something to do with gov safety regulations. I gathered there was a laundry service but we were certain it would be very pricy do did our best with hand washing and drying in the bathroom. Overall though a wonderful luxury to have such a spacious pad on such a prime position. No touristy info in foyer but I was given a map upon request.
