The Hotel Anna is very close to the train station, within walking distance (about a 10 minute walk), but because of luggage we took a taxi. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor ( 4th if you count the building entry way ground floor), with no lifts. The room was larger than expected and very cozy, with an added plus of a small balcony that we could sip and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. There are several cafe's near by where you can grab a quick pastery and a hot beverage, or even a gelato. The owners are very friendly, helpful, and full of information about places to see and visit. The location of the hotel is very close to a majority of the of the museums and other tourist attractions.

We had a very clean and comfortable room, modern updated bathroom, air conditioning, internet connection, and perfect location close to all necessities but on a quiet street. Hosts got us reservations to see "David", and served breakfast early when we went off on a day tour. We couldn't have asked for more. And the price was right!!

I was staying at hotel anna's in mid september for 2 nights ,booked a double room for single and surprisely got a triple room .findying the place was a bit confusing since buildings in Florence seems to have two different numbers.it's within 5-7 minuts walk from the train station which save me time and money.
the hotel is located on the 2nd floor of the building ,there is NO elevetor so get ready to grab your luggage by the stairs.
the rooms are realy clean and specious,bathroom was remodeling and looks clean and shiny .each room have air condition unit,TV,mini bar refrigerator which become very useful for grocery stuff,Double bed is actually two twin beds .
the stuff is very friendly and speak a good english I didnt had a chance to eat Breakfast there (additional 5 euro) but you can find many places around for a good cappuchino and pasteries .
from what the guy at the desk told me they have internet service in the rooms if you bring a laptop with you (not WIFI) .
I had to leave a the hotel around 8 am heading to venice the front desk was not occupied so I left the keys and locked the front door behind me (charged my credit card the night before )
I realy enjoyed my stay there and will definitely recommended that to friends and family who look for a good budget hotel .

*make sure you visit Piazzale Michelangelo a great place to view Florence (take bus number 13 across the street from the train station,buy your bus tickets in advance for the way back as well)

I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Florence. Excellent location: 5 mins walk from the Santa Maria Novella Station, 7 mins from the Duomo, on a very quiet street. The rooms are VERY clean, spacious and quiet. You won't believe the hotel has only two stars, but it's really a very good experience! The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is so tasty: warm croissants and toasts, various cereals and jams, cappuccino. If you get a room with a balcony looking out a courtyard, you will be lucky (room # 5 is recommended). Moreover, the prices are not so high, but the attitude of the staff is perfect.
