“Hidden Florence gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed here for a wedding in Florence. Whilst it is slightly out of town (15 euro taxi), it is very very spacious. There is a tennis court, kids area and swimming pool.

If you are looking for a 4 seasons you will be disappointed as this place oozes charm. There is parquet flooring throughout the hotel. It has great views of Florence. It is a proper 70s mecca and I really hope they don't modernise it or upgrade it as it will lose it's authentic charm.

Room Tip: Choose first floor overlooking Florence...it will have a balcony...you won't be disappointed

“Excellent service and beautiful hotel overlooking Florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

A special thank you for tracking us down on the street after we had departed with my Daughter's calculator that she left in the room. She needed the calculator for home work but more importantly, it demonstrated the excellent level of service Villa Belvedere provides. We had a wonderful visit to Florence and stayed in one of the large suites with a terrace overlooking the impressive city skyline. The suite was large with very well done. The service provided with top notched from the moment we arrived and throughout our stay. Thank you again.

“so nice and cosy”

Located a bit far from the old town which however can be easily reached by bus(about 5 minutes), Villa Belvedere benefits first of all just from its location. Nestled among pines and cypresses on the slopes of the hills surrounded Florence this hotel is a real hide-away of beauty and peace. Choose room with terrace paying extra and you will be admiring the views of Florence worthwhile for you to visit this city.
Small but cosy swimming pool with clipped bay trees growing all around has been a real refreshment after coming back from city heat. The premises is rather old and needs in our opinion a major repair but it's very cosy, nice and clean. Breakfast is substantial with good choice. The lack of music at breakfast room and in the bar during the day and especially in the evening was a kind of surprise for us. The music we mean should not break the tranquillity of this place but just be an integral part of it,
And to make the whole story complete we can't help mentioning the hosts and personal of this family run hotel, They are all kind attentive people trying to do their best to make you feel like at home.

Room Tip: room with terrace is a must, book rooms in the main building

“charming hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

This place is charming--quiet, lovely garden, swimming pool, tennis court, beautiful views of Florence, great breakfast. I would have happily stayed a week or two.

Room Tip: choose a room with a balcony overlooking Florence.

“We'll be back !”

Ideal hotel for a visit to Florence if you don't want to be stuck in the middle of the city but would prefer to be able to observe from a distance. We had a suite with a terrace which gave us a brilliant view of the city skyline but also afforded us extra space and privacy to soak up the sun. With two bedrooms and private bathroom it was also an excellent arrangement for us to travel with our teenage daughter. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and eggs and bacon are available on request. Although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant they do provide a light menu in an evening served in the bar area, and also provide lunch but would prefer it if you gave them notice. We did have lunch on a couple of occasions and it was good and wholesome.

The staff were all willing and provided excellent friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble and this high level of service was maintained through the entire duration of our stay ( 11 nights). I found the hotel during an internet search and was impressed by the number of people who return here. We had hired a car and free parking is available at the hoterl. However to get into Florence centre there is a very reliable nearby bus service or a taxi ( the hotel reception sell bus tickets and will arrange taxis)
We will definitely return !
