Location is good. Near to main train station, Florence(FI.SMN) and bus station. Walking distance (maximum 10 minutes only) to all tourist attraction such as:

- Piazza del Duomo
- Campanile di Giotto
- Piazza della Republica
(return at night to take picture of the carousel)
- Piazza della Signoria
- Uffizi
- Ponte Vecchio "Old Bridge".

Breaksfast is good and the service is good.

The staff is friendly and helpful.

“Has the makings of a good Hotel but needs improvement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

The Hotel is in a brilliant location 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral, Train Station and the main places you would want to be close to. The staff are very friendly and spoke a little English enough for us to get bye.
The Hotel is very charmingly furnished and gives a lovely ambiance and it has a little bookshelf area where you can go and read or take the book with you to your room.
The Room was also very nicely furnished, the shower worked wonderfully. The view was nothing to look at but that isn’t what bothered me, 1st the double bed was again just 2 single mattresses stuck together by the mattress protector which inevitably came apart and formed a canyon down the middle whenever I wondered across which was terribly frustrating. 2nd It was very noisy not from the street but from within the hotel itself I could hear everything though the seemingly solid doors and walls, 8 o’clock in the morning isn’t a time you want to wake up because you can hear the maid cleaning the toilet and banging about next door or someone entering their room.
The Breakfast is also Ok I was little disappointed after reading all the over-hyped reviews saying how fantastic the breakfast is, the truth is that it is adequate. The yogurt was good and the fresh juice, the bread buns and croissant are ok if you get them at the right time sometimes there hard sometimes there fresh.

“Definitely some of the nicest hotel staff in Florence!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

From the booking throughout the stay and billing process, these folks are among the nicest we have had the pleasure to work with -- and we have worked with many. Our group consisted of 13 sometimes hard to please business travelers, and I was amazed at how many of them commented on how nice they found the lodgings, and ESPECIALLY the staff! We will definitely look forward to using Hotel Mario's for future events.

“Great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Personal service. Accommodating staff. Convenient walking access to the old city. Just a tip: to get to the supermarket, as you leave Mario's turn right. At the next open road junction, turn right. Keep walking down that road (towards the train/bus station), cross a small sidestreet, and the supermarket is on your right after the (dreadful) Chinese restaurant. If you are thinking about eating out, try the "there is a difference" sloganed restaurant halfway before the sidestreet crossing.

Room Tip: There was a little unavoidable mould in my single room bathroom.

“Home away from Home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

We stayed in Hotel Mario's for two nights, it was one of the best stay's we had in europe.

Hotel Mario's is walkable distance from the FIRENZE S M N (Florence Rail Station). It is on the first floor of the building and the place do not have an elevator. We were carrying some heavy luggage, which the hotel staff were happy to carry it all the way up. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Hotel Mario's had good reviews on TripAdvisor, that and the fact that it came in our budget made us to book this place. Me and my wife, we had booked a double room with breakfast. The room was small and cosy, with pleasant wallpapers. Strangely our room had an extra attached single room, which would have been perfect for families with a kid. Breakfast starts at 7am, which was a good European Breakfast. What I really liked was the hot fresh crossaints made in Mario's Kitchen.

The hotel had a good collection of classic movies and books, incase you decided to stay back at the hotel and relax. One of the days we reached back at the hotel early by 7 pm, we spend the rest of the night at the hotel lounge, playing chess & 28 Card game, drinking
Italian Wine from their mini bar and munching on some inhouse Italian pasta. This place really made me at home. The Air Con in our room was really good, we had two nights of sound peaceful sleep.

The hotel is walkable distance to some Florence tourist sites like Piazza Duomo, Piazza Della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio.
