This hotel is a couple of blocks from the river in the heart of luxe shopping - Gucci, Chanel, Bulgari, Dior, Armani, etc whose doors we didn't darken but it was fun looking. All major attractions were in easy walking distance. Very much a 3 star hotel; helpful staff, huge room, good bed, average breakfast. They have an arrangement with a garage to store your car while you're there - not cheap but not outrageous either; but it would be impossible to park it yourself nearby; they pick car up on your arrival and bring it back when you check out. Location is so good, you won't need it while you're there. If we went back to Florence, we'd stay here again and also recommend this place to friends.

I just returned from a weekend in Florence, where I stayed at La Residenza. The location couldn't be better: it was roughly a five minute walk from the train station, two minutes from the lovely Arno, and five minutes from Piazza della Repubblica and the Duomo. The interior of the hotel has charm, and the staff seemed friendly and helpful. I stayed in a single room on the top floor at the end of a hall, and it was wonderfully quiet. However, as a petite 5' 3"/160 cm person, I found the bed tiny (I kept crashing into the wall whenever I moved in the minuscule single bed) and the shower almost too cramped to use. I literally had to bend backwards over the toilet while I was showering. I cannot imagine anyone larger or taller than me being able to stay in this room. The bed itself was clean but the walls and carpets were dirty, there was no soap in the bathroom, and though there was a mini-bar menu out, there was no fridge in the cabinet. There were mosquito pads provided (hmmm) but when the mosquitoes appeared, I found no place to use the pads. And breakfast was mediocre... watery, Tang-like OJ and coffee one step above instant. I find it hard to believe this hotel was given three stars. At this time of year, I could have stayed in a spacious double somewhere else for less.

The location is great. Easy walk from the train station. The room was simple and clean. The room had air conditioning. Breakfast was included and they had a pretty good selection. They are located within walking distance from pretty much everything. I would stay here again.

Found ourselves here after the hotel we originally booked had messed up the dates!
Situated centrally and within easy walking distance of all sites.
Comfortable & clean, some rooms are more quirky than others but this is an old building and has a lot of potential if restored. The original lift is fabulous!
Breakfast good with a lot choices although nothing hot . Staff were friendly and attentive.
Would recommend as a good 3* Hotel.
