I reserved a room at this hotel as hotels in Florence are more expensive than I expected, and this was definitely a great value for a central hotel in Florence. You are right around the corner from the Duomo and other sites in Florence are all within walking distance. Plus, you are in the old town / pedestrian area, so its very difficult to get around by car / taxi even if you wanted to!
On that subject, I really regret having booked this hotel, because we were doing a roadtrip of Italy... and finding parking anywhere near the car was nearly impossible. We ended up parking 20 minutes' walking distance from the hotel. And overnight we had to pay something like 20-30 EUR.
Retrospectively it would have been much more cost-effective to have stayed outside the city centre, and to have taken a taxi into town and back from dinner. I will keep this in mind for future roadtrips!
Room Tip: the rooms at this hotel are terrible. entirely livable and clean, but ugly and poorly furnished. if...

Dear odziggel,
we thank you for taking the time to share your impressions about our hotel with other travellers.
Location has been discussed over and over and is one of the most important features our hotel can offer, so we are particularly happy that you had the chance to enjoy it.
On the other hand, we are aware that being so centrally located, it might become difficult to arrive by car. In fact, we usually mention to guests who call to enquire about parking facilities to evaluate, if possible, other means of transportation, especially cause the main station is just 10 minutes away.
About the garage, the cheapest option we are aware of costs 20 Euros (every 24 hours) and is located 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Instead, our agreement with a nearby garage is quoted 28 Euros (every 24 hours) but also includes the tax to access the ZTL and valet services so, all in all, we believe it's a reasonable deal.
Unfortunately, with all the narrow streets, overpriced parking facilities and other car-related issues like cameras scattered around the city, it is not a secret to anybody that Florence is not exactly car-friendly.
One last thing, regarding your phrase "it would have been much more cost-effective to have stayed outside the city centre, and to have taken a taxi into town and back from dinner" we would like to advice you to evaluate that carefully, cause also taxi are not exactly cheap and you might end up paying almost the same with the nuisance of being far from the main attractions of Florence.
We would like to thank you once again for your positive feedback and we are glad that you chose our hotel for your stay in Florence.
