Very nice place to stay and not too far to do Florence sightseeing as well. (Take a cab for 15-20euros to city or ride a bus at 1.5eur). Very fresh air and extremely nice hostess Bendetta. Its a vineyard and has a wine cellar as well..

Tuscan hills spread below the windows of my bedroom, a swimming pool no one else used, and breakfast in a noble, sun-lit room -- these were a few of my favorite things! Interesting restaurants nearby, and dinner can also be arranged in the hotel. Le Piazzole is a great choice for those returning to Florence who do not like its hustle and bustle.

We stayed at Villa Le Piazzole for five nights and attended a wedding on the premises. This is a truly magical place and one of the most unique villas in Tuscany. It is a mere 8-10 minute cab ride to the center of Florence, yet it is a world away. The Villa produces its own olive oil and wines and they are truly exceptional. Our stay was really wonderful and we would highly recommend this place, not only for a vacation but if you are considering a destination wedding, think about this place. Our room (Terrazza) was enormous, we ate a delicious breakfast each morning and the layout for the wedding was truly breath taking. Cocktails and appetizers by the pool over looking the Tuscan countryside, an eight course meal in a glass gazebo followed by dancing in the amphitheater. The staff was incredible (Benedetta deserves a gold star!) and the owner was incredibly friendly, showing us all around the villa, including taking us to the chapel on the premises and showing us his wine cellar. We went into Florence most nights for dinner and the staff was very helpful in calling a cab to take us to and from. They made us reservations for numerous meals and generally bent over backwards to be helpful. There was also free wi-fi. If you want the Tuscan Villa experience, this is your spot!

We came across this place fortuitously having left our unsatisfactory booked villa and looking for somewhere nice. One initial point of confusion - it's listed as Montartino in some guide books, but the sign at the entrance says Le Pizzaole. There's another entrance a few yards along the road signed Montartino, but if you ring the bell there you don't get much help. They should sort this out.
Having overcome that problem, however, the place turned out to be really special. Huge room with kitchenette - helpful for making supper, as there is no restaurant.
The location is superb, a couple of mile out from the centre, really peaceful, but with easy (bus) transport to the centre. The bus stop is right outside the entrance to the estate. One point to note when returning is that its quite a long uphill walk from the entrance to the house, and next time we would consider leaving our car just inside the entrance (plenty of room) and driving up. Another idea would be for the hotel to provide a golf buggy for going up and down.
You can also walk into Florence in about an hour along delightful country lanes. We couldn't find a street map covering the area but got the necessary information from Google maps - internet access is free but only in the salon, where there is a terminal with a big screen and also wi-fi access for laptops.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
