I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Florence! What an unbelievable price for an amazing hotel! Very centrally located in Florence- a short walk from the duomo, ponte vecchio, etc.

The rooms are very big- we got one on the first floor in the courtyard. Extremely modern, clean, and bright! Two separate closets on opposite ends of the room (perfect for me and my boyfriend- we both packed way too much!) big bathroom, nice shower, and good size flat screen tv. Also, great free wifi! Perfect connection everywhere in the hotel. They also have a nice lobby with lounge and computers in case you didn't bring a laptop!

Other great things? They serve a great breakfast buffet (free!) with lovely choices for coffee, juices, pastries, cereals, rolls, meats, cheeses, spreads, yogurts, etc. also cheap laundry service for my boyfriend's shirts. There is also a little minimart across the street with liquor, wine, champagne (for the AM:) ) and waters/sodas. Cheap and they deliver until 12AM! We took advantage of their buy 2 get one bottle free deal:)!

My only suggestions to Orto de Medici? Room service availability! One night in Florence i was extremely sick and we had to cancel our dinner plans. My boyfriend was going to order room service for us but there wasnt any available. He asked the front desk and they were helpful in pointing him to a great nearby pizza place (great pizza- cheap!) also, we had to give our key each time we left to the front desk and they didn't ask us for ID when we walked in and said "room 74"... Kinda scary since any odd person on the street could walk into your room. We had expensive laptops, iPads, etc. so it worried us a bit.

Overall, loved this hotel and will definitely stay here next time we are in Florence! We will also suggest to boyfriend's parents who are planning a trip to Italy next year.

It is always a pleasure to come to this small, elegant and traditional hotel located in walking distance as well to San Lorenzo as to Fortezza da Basso. What I appreciate most is that the basic stuff doesn't change and is always very well tuned. I stay there frenquently since around 8 years twice a year. No need to say that rooms (including the bathrooms!) breath a restful and animating athmosphere. Starting a day in this beautiful breakfast room or outside on the terrace with bird's sing and the soft ribble of a romantic fountain while enjoying the typical Tuskan bread, mortadella & cheese is really a pleasure.

This is a modern newly refurbished hotel with great charm and ambience. It is beautifully clean, comfortable and the rooms are a decent size. The breakfast room is lovely and the breakfast very adequate. The staff throughout are friendly and helpful. Our adult children stayed in a triple room at the back of the hotel, accessed by a short path through a lovely garden with water features. There is WiFi and also a couple of computers in the foyer area for guest use. The hotel is well situated near the Accademia and a short walk to the Basillica. We thought we got very good value for our money and enjoyed our stay very much.

Good reception, room and breakfast service! Clean and large room! Bathroom with bathtub and shower! We can choose whatever we want. A lot of channels on TV. Wireless internet is very convient in the room. Near the bus stop! Walk to supermarket, center or train station less than 15 min. The decoration inside the hotel is beautiful. The price is not high! This is a Chinese restaurant around the corner. And the food is very delicious! Excellent!
