The room was not very clean. There was always some unpleasant smell in the lobby and the corridor.

Hotel Sempione is the ideal place to stay in Florence. It s close to everywhere, the S M Novella train and bus station (5 mins walk) , Duomo (10 mins walk) ,San Lorenzo Market (2 mins walk) and quite a few restaurants and trattorias and bars. The designer shops are also within (15-20 mins walk) and close to the hotel there are various kinds of shops.
However the staff are very helpful , we arrived during the night and the night porter explained exactly on the map where the major attractions are. The breakfast is a good self service continental with lots of choices and good coffee. The two women running the breakfast are really nice always with a smile and ready to help you. The rooms are clean and although not too big have everything you need with TV , AC ,fridge and Wifi . There is also a computer in reception which you can use anytime for free. Benedetta in reception was excellent and friendly. I had a problem with printing the tickets for my flight and she let me use the hotel computer to do it. How s that for service and taking care of the customer. There are other staff who were also friendly like Welden in reception who helped with his phone to find me an address and mark it on the map...I guess the staff are really something and I will surely recommend this hotel and return back

Great little hotel, and handily placed for the treasures of central Florence. Within easy walking distance of the Duomo, Uffizi gallery, San Lorenzo, Accademia, and the railway station. Been there 4 times. Always found the staff friendly and helpful. Rooms and shower-rooms clean. Great base for exploring Florence.

We stayed here for 5 nights in September after reading many TA reviews. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the SMN station and pretty close to most attractions. The room was clean and spacious, and the breakfast was a good sized buffet. Though the internet is free, we had to take a new access card each day (minor hassle). The front desk folks were nice and helpful. For the price we paid, this was probably the best overall value during our entire Italy trip. Would definitely recommend Sempione to anyone going there.
