“Breakfast with a View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Florenece is a wonderful city! What better place to stay than right at the foot of the most famous bridge in Florence the Ponte Vecchio. That is where you will find the Pitti Palace.

The hotel is great and so was the staff, very helpful. You get what you pay for. They have some simple rooms very affordable and clean and then they have some that are more expensive and more upscale. But in the end I want a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. I spend most of my time exploring this beautiful city and would rather spend the extra money on buying gifts to bring home. Florence is the best city in Italy to Shop!!!

Breakfast with a view was amazing! You can enjoy your breakfast inside or out overlooking this amazing city. They have a wide variety of cereal, yogurt, pastries, meats, cheese, coffee, espresso and jucie. The staff is there to please you.

The staff was very helpful with arranging tickets for museums like the uffizzi or the accademia and booking tours to Tusscany. They reccommended wonderful restaurants nearby. When the hairdryer would fall apart they helped out with minor problems in the room. The hair dryers are very outdated for Americans. I would highly suggest you bring your own.

The train station is about a 15 minute walk. We walked both ways to the Pitti Palace. We traveled light with one suitcase and carry on each so it was ok. But the streets are coblestone so make sure you have comfortable shoes. Walking gives you a feel for this rich city and you will see the Duomo on the way to the hotel. It was a wonderful sight to see. Then you cross the Ponte Vecchio over the Arno River to the Pitti Palace.

I fell in Love with Florence. I would definetly come back to Florence and Look forward to coming back to Pitti Palace again.
Thanks to all the Staff.

“Florence Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Pitti Palace is in a perfect location to explore Florence. The breakfast buffet was very good and a teriffic view of the town from the terrace. The pigeons were annoying at times.

The room we stayed in is European standard with no frills. Friendly staff.Make sure you don't have too much luggage as parking in the city of Florence is outside and you have to walk quite a bit.

“Great location and the most helpful staff”

Obviously having a hotel practically on the Ponte Vecchio is brilliant, but having a great place to stay with friendly staff, good breakfasts, evening wine tastings and films on Florence in the rooms makes this hotel way beyond the norm.
Watch the films-its really eductional even for those of us who have visited Florence so many times before, do the wine tasting on the top floor looking towards the floodlit Duomo over the Arno and just enjoy -You will have such a view at breakfast!

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor for best views

“Great location just needs a little update”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Pitti Palace was in a superb location, and the breakfast buffet has phenomenal view.

The rooms are very spacious and have more than adequate amenities.

Our only criticism was that we had to change rooms twice because of a plumbing problem. But the staff were great about it. They were very apologetic and helped us without fuss.

If the pity updates their room decor a little they'd be 5 out of 5.

We really enjoyed our stay in Florence and would stay at the Pitti again.

Stayed here as part of a group. Single rooms are like boxes - small and uncomfortable with tiny single beds. I had asked for a double bed when i booked and in fairness the hotel gave me a double room but others were left with these tiny single rooms. decor very tired indeed, bathroom OK but cracked tiles and not pretty. Location is excellent as the other reviews say. walk over the ponte vecchio and you are in heart of historic florence. walk the other way for the Pitti Palace itsedl and the lovely boboli gardens. Staff are very friendly. Roof terrace is lovely with a good view for breakfast but if its too cold to open it the room itself is small crowded noisy and you queue for indefferent coffee from a machine. Hotel would be fine for a flying visit but not good for a comfy week or a special holiday.

Room Tip: don't book a single!

Dear Guest
I wish you and all the readers a happy new year full of interesting travels. I remember your group and the very exeptional tour leader, it is true that due to room budget many people decided to stay in single rooms with your exeption. Since you were not happy with your room we were happy to give you a double for single use. The others were not left, they decided to stay in smaller rooms and I suppose they were all quite happy and everyone seemed to enjoy their trip in Florence very much.
For breakfast we have two choices: the coffee from the machine or the espresso ready made. We leave our guests free to choose from what they prefer more.
Regards
