NH is a chain hotel from Spain. I recently stayed in the NH Bologna and NH Florence.
The rooms were almost identical. At the NH Firenze the lady that checked me in was very rude if I remember correctly her name is Tita, the same situation with the night clerk she was rude and uninterested it seemed like she enjoyed being rude for example I forgot my universal adapter and I asked for help she just said no and turned around.The hotel doesn't have concierge service. I have to say that the next day Fulvio was kind enough to help me find an adapter. I asked in advance for a remodeled room, the room was adequate. I liked the bathroom and the selection of tv channels in English, French and Spanish. The hotel isn't centrally located you have to walk 10-15 minutes to the train station and then to the Duomo few more minutes, there is a tram that takes you to SMN station and then you walk. Half of the property is remodeled. They have a good deal with internet 24 hours for 5 euros. Basically this a tour group hotel not catered for solo travelers. Breakfast was included and it was decent.

Rooms were spacious and clean and while the meals were good the food wasn't anything special. Staff on the front desk seemed uninterested in providing any service

We arrived in Florence by car and saw the NH near the Arno so we decided to stay for the night. We were very disappointed with our room number 429. In the morning the receptionist said they were undergoing refurbishment. Nevertheless the room was atrocious, the carpets were all stained and smelly, the wall paper was peeling off in places, and the bathroom was really bad, the bath was dirty with the grouting black. The bed was too springy and uncomfortable, its only because we had been up since 6 a.m. on that day that we managed to sleep at all. The breakfast was also not much to say, not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The only good thing about it was the location near the city center, so we left the next morning.

Nice looking hotel but was let down by an average room, ours was number 422. The room needed a face-lift, the double bed was quite hard (mind you, so were many other hotels), and the shower drainage was so slow that we showered in a pool of water. The air-con fan couldn't be manually turned off, so I had to flick the circuit breaker to ensure a quiet room when air-con wasn't needed. A notice in the elevator hinted of on-going refurbishments to the rooms, and going by the pics, they hadn't got to our room yet !
