I have to stay that when I booked this hotel I didn’t do much research. I booked it through a popular website and it had a four star rating. Also, my grandparents had stayed at the hotel twenty years ago and supposedly it was a nice hotel. It was the worst hotel we every stayed at. We stayed at the hotel for five nights so we got to know the hotel pretty well.
As for their onsite parking, it cost 25 Euros a day. The one and only day we wanted to take the car out we ended up having to wait 45 minutes (after asking for assistance) for someone to come and move the car that was blocking our car and to open the gate.
The breakfast was horrible!! The coffee was disgusting and literally green. The orange juice was watered down. We ended up eating outside the hotel. Breakfast staff was unfriendly.
The website I booked the hotel through said they have wireless Internet. They didn’t. They just said it was “broken”. We asked when it will be working again and they didn't give us an answer or even a time frame. No apologies. It never worked the whole time we were there.
One thing I found odd was the piano bar. It was never opened so we were curious and asked if they even have a bartender. They said they do and would send one to the bar. After waiting for at least 30 minutes, a bartender finally arrived and took our order. We asked the bartender if they even have a piano player in the evening, like they claim, and he said they do and that the piano player only plays in the winter. Sure…
We had to change rooms the first day because our first room didn't have a working telephone and television. Also, the toilet was running and was extremely loud so we requested that someone come look at it. They called the bellboy and when the bellboy arrived he was obviously unhappy to be there but fiddled around with the toilet. Nothing happened. After he did NOT fix it, he told us that it does that, and essentially there was nothing he could do about it. Then we mentioned the telephone didn’t have a dial tone and he said it doesn’t. Okay. My mom, now upset, went down to the manager and asked that at the very least they could fix the toilet. After we complained, they moved us into their "suite" which was only slightly bigger with less stains on the carpet. When we were packing up our stuff to move to the second room, the same bellboy just watched us in the doorway, and started yelling at us that this was ”his room now” and that we need to hurry up, which was completely unprofessional. We were in utter shock. I have to say, our new room now had a working phone and television (sometimes). But instead of the toilet running we got a shower with a broken door. It was a disaster. The doors didn’t shut and water would leak all over the floor. There was hardly any water pressure and if we were lucky we got hot water. The shower was extremely dirty. See pictures. It was obvious it was never cleaned. Curtains were dirty and had holes. It was pretty obvious the rooms were stripped and hadn’t been updated in many many years. The curtains were partially hanging on curtain rods. Baseboards were broken and nails were hanging out. Some electrical outlets had no safety covers. Beds were supported by plywood. One of the elevators didn’t work the whole time we were there.
The problem with this hotel is that it is advertised as a four star hotel. You are warned. It is not. It is a one star…AT BEST.
