Great location - minutes to the Duomo and Baptisery. Staff was very helpful. Room was fine. Breakfast was great! Free wireless in the lobby. Great restaurant across the street (ciro and sons?) that served bifsteca fiorentina...WOW..we went back both nights!

We stayed 4 nights. A truly excellent loactaion.The reception and dining room are fabulous. The bedrooms less so. The shower leaked all over the floor, the shower itself was useless as it pointed towards the wall! The air con did not work. The wardrobe had no hanging space for dresses or long coats (friends we stayed with had similar problems including a bath and sink which would not stay full. The bed itself was large, comfortable and clean. The decor of the hotel has become very very tired, and all pervading smell of drains is omnipresent. The reception staff were ever helpful, sadly the dining staff were slighty less so.
As the large vat of scrambled egg was clearly old and cold, my wife asked for 2 poached eggs. We were told these would cost an additional 5 euros! She declined, so instead, with 10 minutes to end of breakfast, they wasted perhaps 20 eggs producing a new batch of scrambled egg (for one?). The complmentary breakfast was adequate at best, in a hotel of this alleged standard, it was poor. We got the room at knock down rate and so we were just about satisfied. If we had paid full money we would have been very very disappointed.

Good old fashioned hotel. I was there on business and lack of WiFi or internet connection in room a problem, but I would return here for tourist reasons because of the location. My room was decoratively tired and smelled of mildew - but to be honest, everything worked and it was a decent size, clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower in the corner of the bathroom worked well, but the shower curtain was probably the main culprit for the smell - and tended to wrap itself around a bit! On the other hand, the service was always excellent (breakfast in my room was huge and only cost the small room service charge) and there was an some of the rooms on the higher floors have a great view. For the money this was a pretty good deal.

We stayed for 3 nights. We reserved 6 months before and got a great price!! The hotel have a great location, one block to the Medici Chappels and 3 blocks to the Duomo!! The restaurant in front of the hotel has a great Lassagna al forno!! The hotel is nice, the breakfast good, the rooms are beautiful. The only problem is the bad smell of the wet carpets in the corridors of the 1st floor. The access to the breakfast room was also complicated. The elevators were crowded all the time. We will return.
