We loved this hotel, very elegant and loved how close it was to the main train station. We took the train in from Rome and the day we arrived it was raining. What a relief to see our hotel across from the roundabout. There is an underground passage from the train station right in front of the hotel. Cute rooms with windows that opened up to the alleyway. Comfortable beds and nice showers. If you go a sharp 90 degree right from the front entrance down the narrow street you will run into the large outdoor mart - where we found great leather products and gifts for home. If you turn left out of the front of the hotel you go down towards the Duomo. Plus you eat breakfast up on the top floor over looking the town and the rooftop of the Duomo. We also ate dinner here one night -- very good and not too pricey. Also was right outside our hotel to take the tours. Highly recommend this hotel, makes an excellent home base. Especially for first timers, like we were. Plus a McDonalds a block down for our little 5 yr old, was perfect.

Florence was my dream since I was a teenager and hotel Baglioni was up to my dream.Not luxurious but very stylish,with attention to details,a hotel with history and future.I loved the view from my window-"the roofs of Florence" (I once saw an exhibit with that name)The shutters on the windows, the silverware at breakfast,the paintings...How can someone talk about the size of the room and stuff like that.This hotel is so...Florence

Close to the railway station and also well situated for the cultural stuff, Baglioni is an elegant hotel with helpful friendly staff. We went for the New Year and we and our son were accommodated in a large triple room, which suited us to a tee. Typical Tuscan decor with shuttered windows but with a sparkling while bathroom.

Drinks and food are somewhat expensive but pretty much everything in Florence seems expensive relative to last time, 4 years ago, and relative to a sterling based consumer.

Staff very friendly and helpful.

My wife thought the beds rather hard, although I found them to be comfortable although notbin a Sofitel way.

Well situated also for Capodanno celebrations with a large concert on Piazza Stationze and fireworks let off in random fashion on Piazza UNITA d'Italia on which the Baglioni is situated.

New is the dreaded City tax at €1 pp per night per star of hotel. Anyone wanting to really do the art stiff should make surevto do the Florence card at €50 for 3 day unlimited access without queues.

The hotel was lovely by any standard. We were pleased with everything.
