We were a little disappointed in the way the bathroom and the carpet was. This was a non smoking room with cigarette burns on the carpet and also on the toilet and also some broken tiles in the bathroom. It took two cleans before the floor was vacuumed as there was plaster on the floor when we arrived. Re the breakfast - yes there were a lot of groups going through the hotel but then the dining room should be on top of replenishing the food. Very slow and some of the hot items not replaced. If breakfast is available til say 10 am then everything should be available. We did however think the shuttle bus a great service. Some of the staff need to be a little more courteous and friendly. We know that groups bring in money as do seminars but there are other guests to be considered also.

Nice hotel that offers a shuttle to go in the city center of Florence (near the train station). Offers a shuttle to the airport but starts only at 8am ish...so not for an early morning flight.
Taxi from the airport is about 12 euros.
The room was clean. Big tv. Nice bathroom.
Front desk is great.

Dont rely on the shuttle they promise to provide into town or the airport....it only runs 5 times a day and not very early or late! And despite being only 1.2k or so from the airport a cab costs nearly 20Euros because of the motorway. The hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate with very little nearby. Hotel restaurant is typical of the large chains - overpriced and under provide.

Rooms were clean as expected. However we had booked a large double and went up to find a twin room. It took a while to change, but eventually we got what we had paid for.

Average stay, staff reasonably helpful but definitely nothing special.

My wife and I stayed at the Novotel for one night. We flew into Florence on a late evening flight and were setting out next morning on a four day driving tour of Tuscany. Since we've been to Florence before and were renting a car from the airport the next morning, I booked a room at the Novotel which is quite close to the airport.

The trip to the hotel is easy, there are taxis right outside the airport and the drivers know the place well. It's a bit expensive - for a 2 km ride, the fare was just below €20, partly due to the late night rates, and on the way back the next morning, it was €22, since the cab has to come to the hotel and charges for it. Novotel supposedly runs an airport shuttle but the lady at reception told us it has been discontinued - wasn't clear whether this is temporary or permanent.

On arrival, the reception area was very nice - on one side of a large and spacious, well-lit lobby with comfortable chairs and sofas laid out and a surprising number of guests sitting around at nearly midnight using the wi-fi ( it is free in the common areas, and presumably not in the rooms - didn't check the latter point) The overall effect is quite cheerful, which is nice when tired from a week at work and a late flight.

There is a nice cafe at the other end of the lobby which serves snacks until midnight, and there are plenty of new-looking Macs set up in parts of the lobby, as well as an XBox 360,:-) for guests to use,

The staff were friendly and courteous - the check-in was quick and efficient, and the lady at check-out was helpful getting us a taxi and suggesting a couple of places to visit in Chianti.

We were given a large room on the first floor. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. There were spare pillows and blankets in the room, the bathroom was large and seemed to be designed for disabled access. The TV was small but is a newer LCD with a VGA socket for connecting your laptop if you want (most TVs I see are older with S-video connections if at all)

The hotel has a small fitness centre (room more than centre;-) and a pool, though we didn't see the latter, so no idea how large/small it is.

Overall, seemed like a solid pick for an overnight stop, and would probably be good for a longer trip to Florence as long as one didn't have to take taxis back and forth.
