“Wonderful stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Last May, my boyfriend and I were in Florence for our honeymoon, and had booked this hotel on the advice of a local travel agent in Québec. How glad we were, when we arrived, to have done so!
This hotel is wonderful: the room was large and very neat, the breakfast had a diversified selection of fresh fruits, mozzarella, yogourt, eggs, cold cuts... We could have a meal that supported us til mid-afternoon without a doubt!
The giardino is a beautiful, green, quiet place for reading or having an espresso or a drink.
But the reason our stay was so great, was the presence of Emanuelle and Barbara, the hosts, who did everything they could so we could enjoy Firenze at its best. They helped us plan train trips to Pisa and Lucca, they advised us on touristic attractions, and even gave us little italian lessons! What more to ask?
I recommend this hotel without a doubt, and I know that when I go back to Florence, I'll definitely stop at the Privilege again.

Awesome place to stay, pretty close to walk to the centre of the city, we loved this taking this stroll daily. Emmanuelle is an amazing host, very friendly and attentive. Loved the breakfast spread, the cold cuts are to die for! Highly recommend this hotel.

“HOTEL PRIVILEGE”

Good location, friendly staff, decent spread for breakfast but shame about the shabby interior and run down rooms.

Room Tip: Hobsons choice really! we had a room towards the back of the hotel but it smelled of damp and the en...

“Room 118-for the punished ones?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

I'm simply amazed for the reviews of this hotel. Only one traveler feld the same that we did. Guess who: travelers from the same "marvelous" room 118. Their pictures are relevant, but too bad that you can't feel the smell in the picture. Smelly, dusty, rusty, dirty and all the bed epithets that came through my mind.
I don't know which one made me feel worst: the bed or the bathroom. To avoid them as much as possible, we were leaving in the morning and came back at night, even if I had a health condition and I normaly needed rest.
I always value the reviews for the hotels, but this time I was so wrong to follow them. I thought first that the owners write their own reviews, but then I discovered that the room they've been offer us is the problem. Usually, even the greatest hotel have some complains, but...not this one!
The hospitality and warming that everybody's speaking amazed me as well. The only smile that I received was a malicious one, when the desk lady (the owner, I suppose) opened the room and invited me in. She gave me a map and some indications, but...it's usually a receptionist job. No friendly talking, no "how did you feel in our hotel?" (I had some answers to that...).
It wasn't a cheap hotel, it wasn't a motoway hotel. It's a Florence hotel! I came with my husband in Florence for our 15th wedding aniversary and it was ruined. And I'm truly mad for it and offended, because I had other expectations.

Room Tip: Do not stay in room 118.

“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

We booked this hotel based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel is great, especially if you have a car and planning trips outside Florence. It is very close to all city historical and art attractions on one side but it is removed from touristy crowds.

Emmanuelle and Barbara are the absolute best hosts you could ever hope to find. They were helpful every step of our trip - from parking our car, advice on best restaurants and historical information on all places we travelled outside Florence. They made us feel at home and well cared for.

If we are ever back in Florence, this is the place we will definitely stay again.
