is very good hotel in the center of Santa Croce very good service and very Gentile

We stayed at Hotel Dante for a week while we visited our daughter who is studying in Florence this semester. We had consulted Trip Advisor and reviews were favorable. This is a family-run hotel, and we were always greeted by the owner, Roberto, his wife, baby, and niece. Roberto was helpful in trying to arrange tours, taxi, etc. We were pleased with our room, which was clean and spacious. Adjoining efficiency with refrigerator, sink, stove, table and chairs was a nice addition for snacking. Breakfast was provided every morning, and consisted of coffees and teas, pastries, toast, cereals, rolls, meats and cheeses, yogurt and fruit, and juices/water. Hotel Dante is right around the corner from the Santa Croce church and piazza, and very close to the main downtown area. We would certainly stay here again, and recommend this hotel for travelers who like a small and very comfortable place to stay.

If you want luxury, then this is not your hotel. If you want a place to stay that is friendly and clean for an affordable price in a pretty darn good location, then Hotel Dante is a great choice. The furniture is not up-to-date, but I feel like they did the best they could with it. It is a family run hotel, so you can tell they update things when they get a chance. The breakfast was very good and had a selection of cereals, pastries, yogurt, fruit, and a small selection of meats and cheeses. They make real cappucino there and we got one each morning. The staff there went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I would certainly stay there again.

The hotel was basically clean but rooms were notably unattractive. Breakfast was significantly inferior to that in comparable level hotels in other parts of Tuscany. Stale rolls, cheeses that seemed like the cheapest grocery store cheese in the US. We emailed that manager before we left the US asking that he get us a reservation at the Academia. He said that there would be plenty of time when we arrived. We reminded him when we arrived. He put off doing it and then was not able to get us a ticket. The only positive was the location - on a street right next to Santa Croce. There must be better hotels in Florence for a similar price.
