I'm very critical so even though we had a great stay I want to mention some of the minor issues we experienced before talking about my top 10 list. First there was the unexpected city tax that we had to pay at checkout. Though not the hotel's fault (it's the law) it gave me a bit of a sour taste in my mouth and def not a good way to end a rather awesome stay. Secondly the walls were a bit thin and we could hear the folks next door. Furthermore the hair dryer handle got really hot so my gf had to stop and wait for a few min to use it again. And finally the flusher issue in the bathroom. We had to push it the opposite way sometimes because it wouldn't pop back after pushing it and the water kept pouring in to the toilet bowl. But these are just little annoyances and I would still recommend this hotel to everyone because the positives def outweighs the negatives. And with that here is my Top 10 list.

7. Great location (15 minutes by car to city center and far enough from the tourist area so it's nice and quiet and peaceful)
6. Free in-room safe, heater worked well, and slippers (always a plus)

Un'hotel dove è sempre un piacere soggiornare. A due passi da Coverciano a dal Centro sportivo di Firenze. Il centro città è raggiungibile facilmente in 15 minuti. Affascinante, trattasi di un ex monastero francescano, locato in un piacevole giardino silenzioso. Lo scelgo sempre come base quando devo trascorrere qualche giorno di lavoro a Firenze. Lo staff è cortese e le camere sono pulite. Ve lo consiglio.

We were there for 2 nights in august 2010 and it was a nice and quiet , not too far from city center and we had parking for our car. We had a spaceous and clean room with a very modern bathroom and views out over hills and an olive grove.. Breakfast was simple but plenty. The reception staff were polite and efficient. They gave us direction to get to the Center pf Florence quite easily and where with could park our car. I'll go back there on my next trip.

Everything about the hotel was ok. The room was small and clean. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. The hot water ran out if we didn't shower either straight away in the morning or after 11. The staff were helpful when asked questions. The breakfast was nice. There were eggs which is the only breakfast protein we've had in Italy, so that was nice. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is not in the middle of the tourist mess of Florence, it is about a 30 - 40 minute walk which suited my husband and I just fine. The AC seemed to work only when the room was unoccupied - which sucked for sleeping.

I made a stupid error in judgement on our first night there which soured me on the hotel. Extremely tired from a three flights and a nine hour time difference we went downstairs to eat and discovered that the dining room was packed. We asked at the desk and were directed to a restaurant about 15 minutes walk away. We found a pizzeria (which was fantastic). Mid way through the meal I realized that I had left my wallet full of my euros (315 euros to be exact - I bought a coke in CDG and had the opportunity to count my money) sitting in my purse which was sitting on the chair in the hotel. Wasn't surprised when we returned to the hotel and found money missing from my wallet. It was strange because the whole amount wasn't missing just 100 euros. So that mistake only cost me 100 euros but I became much much much more cautious with all of my belongings after that stupid mistake. I didn't report it because it sounds stupid even to me, I left my wallet on this chair and someone broke into the hotel room and took a portion of my money and left the rest behind. I chalked it up to stupidity and decided to become much more cautious.

It's hard to objectively look at a hotel after that.

Be cautious with your belongings where ever you go ... but I probably don't need to tell you that. That's probably something I'm the only naive person in the world needed to learn.
