“a very charming place”

Me and my wife spent a long weekend in Florence Hotel Cellai in January. It was like staying in an enchanting house. We we entered there were candles, beautiful music and warm lighting. We had a short rest in a sitting room with fireplace and went to our room. The room was very nice with black furnitures, wooden floor and blue velvet courtains. There was a giant beautiful lantern hanging from the ceiling and some original drawings lighted with picture lights. We also received a nice complimentary bottle of Chianti wine. We walked around the hotel and discovered lots of beautiful public areas hidden allover. We suggest to walk along all the corridors as every single area is very nicely decorated. On the top floor we discovered a nice terrace that looked like a sitting room. January is cold in florence but we had a rest in the library of the hotel: awsome ! There is a honesty bar there. clients can serve themselves. Nice idea. Staff was very nice to us and breakfast was lovely with candles and a beautiful home made cake. Excellent Cappuccino ! We will go back.

Room Tip: Canopy bedded rooms are great !

“Nice hotel”

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in December 2011. The room and the bed were rather small but we were still able to get a good night's sleep. The bathroom was very nice with a huge walk-in shower. The front desk staff were friendly and always willing to help or answer questions. Breakfast was good and consisted of various meats, cheeses, cereal, pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juices, tea and coffee. The hotel is in a fairly good location and you can walk to the Accademia and Uffizi museums as well as to the Duomo and a variety of shops. The only bad thing that I can say about our room was that there were mosquitos and we were constantly trying to kill them. Maybe this was just a problem with our room.

“Charm and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

This hotel is charming with a wonderful location, just two and a half blocks from the Plaza San Marco and the Academia (with THE David!). It is also a short walk to the central market, the Medici Palace, the Duomo and other attractions in this fabulous city. The front desk managers are always helpful, the continental breakfast is plentiful, and there is a charming three level roof garden with a view over the Duomo. There are splendid restaurants nearby. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else while in Florence.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back away from the street.

“Hotel with style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

We spent 3 nights in this lovely , centrally located hotel. There is a fantastic roof-terrace with garden furn. and many more common places, sitting areas so you do not need to sit in the room with your friends or company. Our room was a corner suit on the 3rd.floor, looking to 2 streets. Bedroom and sitting room and a small but enough bathroom with shower. The suit was furnished with nice old pieces, heavy curtains, looked like a "budoire". It was clean, nicely kept, the staff very helpful, the breakfast just fine, better and more than the usual italien ones. It is true that the location is noisy being a main street with busses all days and nights but the good side is that you can walk to the main attractions.
Do not know about room price since it was a group trip but if you want to stay in the centre and in a stylish hotel it is a good choice.

Room Tip: Higher floors are more quiet, corner suits are very nice.

“Our room was NOT 4 star quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

A friend and I checked in before 10am on the day of our arrival. Our room wasn't ready, so they gave us an alternative room. It must have been one that has not been updated. Or cleaned with any regulairty. The carpet in the room and bathroom tiles were worn and grubby. The canopy curtains above the two beds were half hanging off and there was a fan unit on the wall with a broken cover. There were also wall plugs which had holes where the swich and pluc should be. Whilst a good size, the room was of a poor 2 ** quality. It seemed a bit dirty as well.
We only found out on checking out that there was a breakfast room and a roof terrace. None of this information was given to us on check in when, as first time visitiors we would have been expected to be informed of the facilities.
The staf were however helpful with directions and provided us with a map, and arranged for a taxi for us when we left. The lobby and downstairs area of the hotel and the roof terrace were beautiffully appointed and luxurious looking - which is what we expected from our room. The hotel is perfectly located and an easy walk to the San Lorenzo market, Ponte Vecchio and the main Duomo. I would go back again, but would request a 4 **** room the next time!

Dear,
every room is regularly cleaned and serviced by our staff so, if you found some little thing not very good, it was just an accident and we apologize for it. Why you didn't say that to our receptrionists, so that they would have quickly moved in another room? To satisfy our customers, we do our best. I am happy of reading that you will come back.
So, see you soon, we'll place you in a luxory room.
Kind regards,
MCBianchi
