We travelled to Florence in Sept 2011. Sadly we had a major car accident on the autostrade on the day of our trip to Florence. By 'the grace of God' we managed to finally get to Hotel Pierre. The concierge, Roberto, was absolutely brilliant. He demonstrated enormous care and empathy, which we both appreciated. Whilst the room was nothing to rave about, the Hotel is located in central Florence hence an easy walk to all the restaurants, churches, musems and the like. We stayed at the hotel for 3 evenings. On the day of our scheduled departure there was a train strike. Roberto organised for us to stay another evening in an upgraded room at very competitive rates. Our second room was far superior to our initial experience. Like many hotels in Italy, the rooms are reasonably small, bathrooms modest however as long as your expectations are realistic then the experience should be positive.
Would I stay at Hotel Pierre again? Even though the staff were superb, would still try and find a hotel a little more up-market.

Stayed at the Pierre for the third time, it wasn't exactly a charm. My 5 star hotel sister came with us and we didn't impress her. May I say the staff was wonderful and the breakfast great.
We stayed Over from Nov 19 - Nov 27, 2011, the second day of our stay we had to change rooms due to no heat. Annother day we were unable to use the shower at night due to no hot water. The telephone didn't work for 2 days which could have been a major problem since I have health issues. When they fixed the phone and tested it they charged me!
We got no relief from the gentlemen that handles the early morning shift who even charged me for a bottle of water. Sorry to say next time I will go back to the Hotel Cavour.

Just came home from Florence, Italy and stayed at a wonderful little treasure of a hotel called the Hotel Pierre. Our friends recommended this hotel as a great place to stay. We were not disappointed. The Front Office Manager (I think her name was Anna) was very sweet to us after we traveled over 22 hours. The rooms were very clean and we walk everywhere in the Historical centre. We can't say enough of this little hotel in the centre of Florence, Italy.

The room along with the bathroom are decent size. I'm big on where hotels are located and I think this one is perfect! Duomo 5 min walk ...ponte vecchio bridge 5 min walk.Santa Croce basilica 10- 15 min walk. Then we also walked from the train station to the hotel maybe 15 min walk and easy to find. The location was good enough that our tour guide met us at our hotel.
