The hotel is very conveniently situated between Central train station/ Santa Maria Novella station and the Duomo. All the attractions and shops are in walking distance of the hotel.
When we arrived, we were assigned a double room instead of the twin room, that I requested. The reception did their best and house keeping was sent off to find us a suitable twin room. Within 30 minutes we were assigned a new room, no fuss whatsoever.
The room itself is OK: it is clean, but some of the furniture is a bit outdated. The beds, cushions and duvets were fine. The bathroom is really nice, large and clean. We were satisfied as well about the broad range of amenities provided. Complimentary bottles of water on arrival. Our rate included American breakfast which was served in the restaurant below: enough choice of breads, yoghurt, cereals, fresh fruit and scrambled eggs/bacon/sausages etc. WIFI is 7 EUR for the entire stay, which is not that bad at all. But, nowadays WIFI should be offered free of charge anywhere.
Downsides: as mentioned in other reviews, they have a strong pot-pouri/flowery perfume set up at the reception which gives you an headache when you stay there too long. The same fragrance seems to be spread in the hallways and some of the rooms. And further: they state to be a non-smoking hotel, so why are there ashtrays in the bed- and bath room?

Overall: we really liked the hotel because of location and cleanliness and it is pretty quiet at night (we had a room facing the back of the hotel). The rate is quite high, but we found it was worth it.

I have always found Florence to be one of the most difficult cities to get a good hotel without having to overpay. Although I paid a little more for the Cerratani than I wanted to, I was not disappointed. The location is absolutely perfect. By being so close to the train station, you save $ on not having to take a taxi to your hotel when you arrive at the train station with a suitcase. The check-in manager was so friendly, it was a pleasure to check in. I thoroughly expected a small room. It was small, but it had some extra nooks of space between the bedroom area and bathroom that made it convenient to store your luggage and keep it out of the way so you could comfortably move about your room. The bathroom was modern and extremely clean. And the bed very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was nice, but nothing terriffic. It was a nicer hotel than I expected. But I'm still searching for the perfect gem of a hotel in Florence that is a super value.

When it came to eating, I tossed out my review books and just went into nice casual restaurants. I was never disappointed with the food or pricing. Florence is fabulous and the Cerretani Firenze exceeded my expectations.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station, it does not have a sign that you can see walking down the street so you don't see the front door until you are in front of the hotel. It is only a 5 minute walk to the duomo making it an ideal location.
The hotel is in need of a renovation it is very tired in areas but I have been told they are planning this.
This is another hotel that has high room rates ( our room at the sofitel in Rome was cheaper and included Internet ) and charges for Internet they try and help but it is a charge that should not happen, they sell you a 3 hour card for Internet, we went to a coffee shop near by with free Internet and logged on to this from our room so had 24 hour free Internet.
The staff on the front desk recommended 2 very good restaurants for dinner , I would take
their advice we went to a great little restaurant that would never have found without them.
