The Reception staff are charming and very helpful.
The hotel is in a brilliant situation only a couple of minutes from the Duomo and the centre.
There are vending machines to get water and snacks which was helpful.
I had a room which looked on to a side street which was much quieter and I slept easily both nights without being disturbed by street noise.
But - the room!!! It has a 'wet' bathroom (which I normally love) but the wooden door and frame were rotten and smelled of damp. The toilet was tucked in the corner and I only just could fit in (ok I'm a big lad - but not that big!) and the seat was broken. There was lots of black mould on the grouting between the tiles. The sink was in the main bedroom in an alcove and was cracked and no plug! The bedding was very clean as was the towels but - buy some new towels that can dry someone, they just spread it about they were so thin and old.
Breakfast was simple but adequate.
No aircon will make it impossible in the height of summer.
Even though I paid cash and got a good discount it was still 80euros per night and frankly not worth the money. Please, please invest in your hotel and clean it up. The place needs dramatic and urgent updating and a lick of paint.
I'm sorry, I can't recommend this hotel which is a shame because the owners and staff were so lovely.
