Hotel Ariele is situated in a quiet area of Florence, but also very close to major attractions. The rooms – at least the one we had – are small but comfortable. The hotel serves a very good buffet breakfast – included in the room rate – in a spacious breakfast room. The hotel has a small bar and a very comfortable sitting area. There is also an enclosed garden with trees and seats to relax with a cup of coffee or a drink. The hotel staff are very helpful and the room rates are reasonable for Florence. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the River Arno, the train station and several good restaurants. This hotel is worth a return visit.

My family and I stayed in a quadruple room which was fairly nice. Overall the hotel was quite old fashioned. The decor was old in the lobby and the one computer available was outdated Upon booking I was informed of free WIFI access but discovered it was only available in the lobby. Hotel staff were not particularly friendly and did not go out of their way to offer assistance with any travel plans or tourist spots of interests,,...i.e. restaurants, nightly entertainment etc. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from central Florence which is very convenient considering the price paid. The breakfast was not the greatest although the cheese provided was quite fresh surprisingly. Considering we did not spend much time at the hotel it was a fair value for the money. The one annoyance was that the phone in our room did not work (apparently 2 of the buttons were jammed), as well I was constantly awakened by the sound of water running through the walls. This is obviously a result of poor or old plumbing fixtures. Anyhoo overall I would rate this hotel as good.

OK, the hotel is quiet, location is not bad (next to the Teatro Comunale), easy to find, the historic centre is 10-20 mns away... BUT :
- staff is not welcoming at all, no greetings, no farewell, nothing
- breakfast is poor : fruit juice is awful and hot drinks are made from a machine, the choice of food is really very small...
- our room was poorly equipped : no safe, aircon is noisy and inefficient, tv is very small, beds are very basic, not at a 3-star standard
- the bathroom was a joke : nowhere to hang our towels, no airflow - really a problem in a quadruple room, isn't it !
- wifi works in parts of the hotel only
Conclusion : we were happy to go.
