With all the hotels in Florence, it was difficult to choose one, so I was relieved this hotel worked out well. We booked three rooms for my family, and we were all pleased. The hotel is in an excellent location, which made sightseeing easy. The hotel staff was professional, courteous, and helpful, especially those at the front desk. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The six of us often congregated on the couches in the lobby and felt as if we were sitting in a living room. Breakfast was diverse and plentiful (the wait staff could have been friendlier). I was not happy, though, that the hotel charged for Internet service. With the high price of a five-star, luxury hotel, the owners could include this convenience. (The four-star hotel in which we stayed in Venice gave us free Internet access.) All in all, our stay was a good one, and I would recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights at the end of a 3 week trip to Italy in May 2011. It was hot and humid in Florence and the quality air conditioning was such a relief. The room was a huge corner (junior suite?) room overlooking a small square and several high-end shops.

The ceilings were high, the windows opening onto the square enormous--I felt totally pampered and taken back in time. The bathroom was generous in size and amenity-full. I enjoyed the heated towel bar as it came in handy for some hand-washing and soggy clothes due to the city heat.

Our room was extraordinarily spacious and comfortable. The service was impeccable. In advance of our trip the concierge arranged dinner reservations via email. On site the concierge desk also seamlessly handled requests for tickets to see the David and the Uffizi (note: not easy to find the place to pick up the latter tickets--could have used a LOT better instructions). Also recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner one night.

Overall our trip was made far more pleasant by the quality of the staff and the comfort of our room. We ordered room service our first night and although beautifully and elegantly presented, the food was not very good. We never made it up early enough to have the complimentary breakfast but our room service suggests we didn't miss anything.

A restaurant on the square had a fashion show and party one night that lasted well into the morning, which we viewed as both a novelty and part and parcel of being in the heart of the city. Others might have found the late night noise a bit annoying.

We definitely enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

A wonderful hotel in every way! The rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff was very professional and helpful! I would stay here again and again!

Very friendly and helpful staff!atmosphere of another time,cozy lobby(huge fireplace,nice furniture).clean,enough room space(even back but quite enough),interesting bathroom,comfortable bed.the area is situated is the best!
Breakfast simpatico!motzarella and tomatoes my favorite.
