The Hotel Home in Florence was refreshing after coming from Tuscany farm estate. The all white cool and chic hotel was refreshing ,the staff was helpful and they had great breakfast and snacks throughtout the day. Love the coconut covered marshmallows.
The rooms were all white with great internet and the fine soft linens and sheets. Great location to the Offizzi gallery and other great sites...

We were very excited by some of the reviews and pictures but, unfortunately, although it had it's good points, Hotel Home did not live up to our expectations. The good bits included, proximity to town, lovely cappuccino in the morning, decent breakfast. There were some nice ideas, the all-white decor and the all-day nibbles at reception but they were poorly executed. Some of the furnishings were crap, the bathroom in our room had clearly been 'forgotten' and looked drab and awful and the all day nibbles were not covered and so became stale and inedible.

Also, our shower did not drain and although I reported this no one came up to deal with it. They did not care at all. I flooded the bathroom twice. When we called for room service they did not have what we wanted and were very lacklustre about suggestinf an alternative. Again, they could not care less. There is no bar or restuarant so really it is a glorified B&B. The breakfast room would work as a bar, but not as a breakfast room as there is no natural light. The room was very small and the bedding felt quite cheap. Also, you could not get an iron.

Florence, however, was fantastic and so the trip was still worthwhile. I would not return to Hotel Home though.

The pros: Very chic hotel all the decor is white themed and attractive.
The breakfast was very good with good choice, excellent coffee, the bed supportive and the staff very helpful.
The room was cleaned effectively with all the usual goodies one would expect from a quality hotel.
They have a complimentary buffet (small snacks) available in the afternoon but be aware in the early evening the drinks become "aperitifs" and are chargeable
The cons: My room was small, even accepting it is a city hotel, with minimal storage. I argue one wardrobe with six hangers for two people is inadequate particularly staying four nights as part of a 21 day tour! No where to sit except on the bed.
The location is arguably just outside the tourist area but is walkable being about 5mins from Santa Croce and 10 from Duomo and is quiet.
My one real grumble is that I was recommended to one restaurant by a member of their staff which, frankly, was at best average and who then sought to vastly overcharge for the meal! More on that later.

The hotel is the epitome of style and design. Minimal, white colour all over and incredible furniture(either modern or baroque in white colour) makes the place simple fantastic. The rooms could be a little larger, but we were there only for sleep. The breakfast is very good but I would have liked some more variety, although everything was there (e.g. pancakes, waffles, crepes). The gym is small but with technogym machines, although missing free weights. The price is very decent comparing it even with much more expensive hotels.
