“Best place to stay in Firenze”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Everything about our stay at Villa i Giullari was wonderful. The view is incredible, the rooms were clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated and the service was impeccable. We (a couple) stayed at Villa i Giullari for three of the six days we were in Florence and then at another place right in the middle of Florence. We were so sad to leave and missed everything about this wonderful place. Even though our trip was quite some time ago we look back on our time staying here as one of the biggest highlights of our holiday. It is a lovely walk out of town along beautiful cobbled streets which let you see the real Florence and an amazing view out over the Tuscan hills. The street it is located on is quiet and exactly like something out of a movie, it has the most fantastic restaurants within walking distance and on arrival we were given a lot of information on the best things to do in Florence which really added value and enjoyment to our trip. I could not recommend the experience highly enough. The staff went completely above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed and you can't ask more than that (and did I mention the view!).

Room Tip: While all the rooms are lovely, the upstairs rooms were particularly nice

“Cooled off in the Jacuzzi under the hot August Tuscan Sun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

ViG is a peaceful and safe place to stay away from hoards of tourists in the city. It is an easy 30 min walk to Piazalle Michelangelo and San Miniato. You can either catch a bus (tickets from Guidetta) or call a cab(10 euros) to and from the central city. The airconditioned rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious, beds are comfortable and bathrooms have all new fixtures. Hearty brkfst: ham, cheese, croissants, cereals, bakery cakes and rolls, juices and coffee. The view from your room is worth the price. Totally enjoyed reading and sunning on the lawn then cooled off in the jacuzzi!!!! Omero and Crespino Rey are two wonderful restaurant within walking distance. Owner Guidetta is so welcoming and will care for your every need. I will always stay here.

Room Tip: Rm numbers 1-4 have a million euro view!!

“Incredible Place, WONDERFUL HOSPITALITY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Me and my husband stayed here as we stayed three nights in Florence. We wanted to stay near to Florence but experience the countryside as well. I will admit we were a little hesitant to stay here because although it was close to florence we did not know if it was close enough. There was nothing to worry about we were close enough to walk about 20 minutes, which is great after a big plate of beautiful pasta at Omero , which is right next to the hotel. The place was gorgeous and Guidetta the owner was so helpful, making us feel at home. Her place has a nice hot tube in the garden with awesome views. Breakfast was wonderful, Guidetta served us her fresh cakes she made the day before. I also have to point out that her cafe's and coffee's were the best in town.I would recommend this place for adventurous couples and people who like to relax.

Room Tip: Ask guidetta for suite 4 has a little balcony

“Great to return to after a busy day of sightseeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

I chose this B&B because of its location in the hills above Florence as I knew it would be hot and humid in town. When you arrive, the impressive Villa really makes you feel you have reached a beautiful and tasteful home in Tuscany. Guidetta is a charming and warm hostess who does her utmost to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, she a has a great sense of humour and endless patience.
Our rooms were very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, and wonderfully cool thanks to the aircon. Fresh towels supplied each day and fresh bed linen every 3rd day. All rooms, except room 5, have lovely views over the rolling hills, villas and olive groves. We did find the beds to be very firm, but obviously this is a personal choice, and certainly did not detract from a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
The continental breakfast offers you a good choice with endless cups of coffee or tea.
Getting to and from Florence is about a 30-40 minute steep walk or 10 minutes on the 38B bus which stops outside the B&B, but only runs every 2 or so hours. There is another bus (12 or 13) but this is a fair walk from the B&B. We ended up using taxis (as my husband has knee problems) and the cost to Santa Maria Nouvella station is Euro 16 (add Euro2 for each suitcase).
We tried two of the recommended restaurants, one being Omero which is 2 minutes from the B&B. It has magnificent views and sublime food, somewhat expensive, but for a special meal worth it. We also tried Crespino Ray (about a 20 minute walk) and we did not enjoy this venue or the food.
We would definitely return to this upmarket and charming B&B and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Only room 5 seems to be without a view, but it is very nicely decorated and comfortable.
