“Great typical Italian hotel with lots of art.”

Very nice and small quiet hotel. Just outside of Cortona. We love the walk that is less then a km to the town. Overlooking the beautiful landscape. It is not a good idea to do the walk during the dark because there are no lights. Therefore we almost always have lunch in town. (Never seen a town before were all restaurants, small or big, are good.) And we have dinner in the restaurant of the hotel which is great. They also sell art works that are displayed all through the hotel and even in the rooms. Always changing.
The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is very good as is the capucino!!

Free parking in front of the hotel. 1 minute to town centre by car and 5 minutes down the road from Le Celle. great place to visit and contemplate.

“Cortona's Crown”

Situated above the town of Cortona, Corys is situated in a unique spot, looking over to the east towards Lake Trasimeno and to the west over the valleys of vineyards and olive groves. The suite we were upgraded to was like home. For four days we ventured out from Corys and expored the countryside, coming home each night to a beautiful suite with a sitting room, huge bedroom and modern bathroom. The restaurant offered amazing dinners, albeit a little pricey, and a very adequate breakfast (included). All in all a great place to stay. Word of caution - don't send out your laundry. One load cost us 60€!

“Fell in love with Corys”

After reading the only other review in English, I feel the need to share my experiences.
My husband and I stayed at the smaller apartment across the street from the main building. It was charming, spotless, conveniently located very close to the center of town and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The view was amazing, the food...excellent and the service was beyond our expectations. I plan to stay there again in the near future and hope to make many sightseeing day trips but return nightly to this wonderful location. My husband has travelled the world on business and we BOTH agree that Corys is outstanding. It was booked for us using an Italian travel site-they knew what they were doing!

“restaurant with rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2009

Good restaurant but overpriced, there are several nice restaurants in town for half the price.
Hotel has no extra room where guests can relax, read a book or so, there is the restaurant with the terrace. I certainly dont want to read a book or so when people around me are having dinner. When we arrived it was pretty chilly outside. After the long drive we wanted to sit down, relax and have a drink. They wanted us to sit down in the restaurant where a private party was going on with live music etc.
I asked before reservation if the hotel was within EASY walk to and from Cortona, answer was yes but he forgot to tell us that the reasonable part was going to Cortona, coming back is another thing, very very tought trying to go up that hill !
Parking can be very difficult some times ! You have to park roadside, the hotel does not have there own parking !
Rooms are very small, no easy chairs or so, bathroom very good.
The owner invited us for a "free" excursion. His secretary would bring us there next morning. We waited for 45 minutes before we find out that the staff did not know abouth that, neither did Giulia know where to bring us. After all we had to pay for the excursion ourselves.
No excuse or what, I call that bla bla !
Giulia was most helpfull in everything but cannot change one and other.
For some people a nice restaurant with rooms to spend the night after dining. Certainly not a place to spend your vacation, certainly no 4 stars.

We think about having to make some precise statements to how much dictate; first allow us to express our surprise in the reading of this critique the guest after the stay, at the check out time, on our stay card has appraised our structure in positive way.
We depart for first underlining some details concerning our RistoArte:
our prices are proportionate to the professionalism of the service and the quality of our products, a chianina meat certified and checked by the autorities it has a different price of an Argentinian meat, a restaurant with a paper of wines of around 1350 different labels it has a very various band of prices, our RistoArte was every week completely reserved from Italian generally and clients of the place, clients that carefully choose whether to eat and client that perfectly know the relationship quality price; inside the city of Cortona there are a lot of “Trattorie” and “Osterie” with lower prices but, without nothing to remove from what they offer, the quality of the products is not comparable to what we treat in our RistoArte Corys.
Passing to the problem of the spaces for read a book we specify that never a guest has been forced by anybody to sit down in the RistoArte while the other guests consumed the lunch, a solution has been found seen the external rainy wheater and considering that the posting to our reception was not enough, the proposed solution was that to arrange the guests in our wine cellar in the table predisposed for the tastings, anybody was thrown they out. The area relax of the swimming pool has always been to disposition of our guests and doesn't exist a prohibition to read a book in that zone yet, and we also remember that in order to make the guest feel well despite the rainy day has been prepared an appetizer (offered) and they have been able to sit outside in the terrace under our external gazebis.
But we also go before, Cortona is an Etruscan city built on a promontory, it is very difficult to find level roads in this zone therefore, in the booking we everytimes told of the distance (1 km) and of the time of route for arriving in the principal plazas, we also recommend to bring a torch considering that we think that not all the people have gotten used like us to walk in dark and that therefore it is useful to inform the clients of the scarce brightness of some zones;we told also of the fact that we didn't have private parking and despite this we give when we can the possibility to park in front of the entrance of the hotel despite this was not usually allowed, but we can continue.
We don't believe that the room that we have offered is small, considering that is a room of 24 m², excluded bath; the tour that has been offered has been a surprise that we have wanted to do because for the first time we have this new initiative with an archeological association of Cortona, we have offered a driven visit of an hour which cost normally € 100,00, there have been an incomprehension with the association for the cost of the ticket of € 2,00 each person, cost that we would certainly have refunded (maintaining our word for the FREE visit), but despite our curiosity and the numerous times when we have asked to the guest if everything had been all right, considering that it was the first time that we collaborated with this new initiative, he had never made sign to such incident.
The owner in person was interested in to ask what the result of the Tour had been, more than once; without counting that the service shuttle (going and return) from the Tour has not leastly burdened on the costs, also this has been completely offered and nobody would certainly have refused to accompany the guest in center in the case of necessity.
Said this and avoiding to add other we beg the guest to analyze better the everything and to appraise the appointment of everything, of our staff and all the services of the hotel and the RistoArte that we have been made he available, is therefore more objectives in his declarations, unfortunately we can’t already give the moon but we put all our life to improve day after day, to remain in our certified quality (ISNART) and to make that whoever feels him to really ease.
