The Sole Castello was an unplanned stop for us, and we were thankful to find something available. A couple nights later, we stayed at the Villa Greta in Taormina, a much nicer experience - staff and restaurant were quite nice, food was excellent at the restaurant in Villa Greta. But Sole Castello had nothing other than a nice view going for it. Rather unpleasant staff, 5 Euro extra for parking, lack of character, mediocre restaurant did not make for a memorable experience.

This hotel has the rudest staff I ever came upon. We were at this hotel Aug. 27-29 and they gave away one of our pre-paid rooms, tried to charge one of our people for something they did not order and spoke to us like dirt. We took 22 rooms for 2 nights and you would think they would be more hospitable. You have to pay a depoit to watch TV! The location is very high up with a good view but the rudeness and inuendos cancel this all out. The water pressure is bad and the bathrooms are not clean.
We chose this hotel because it said it was in a good location; "Paradise".
Believe me, stay somewhere else. Tourism is over 80% of the economy in Taormina, couldn't they at least act as if they welcomed us????
