I have stayed in this hotel twice. Rooms vary in size and decor, but are generally spacious. The building is full of artworks (paintings, sculptures...). Most of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, but some of the receptionists could be sent to a customer service course. And this had not changed during the four years there was between our visits to the hotel. Waiting staff in the restaurant and breakfast are very friendly.
There is a safety deposit box in the rooms (€1.50/day) and the hotel has also a limited number of fridges to the rooms (€5/day). If you cannot get one, there is also a small fridge in the reception where you can keep your stuff.
Both the rooms and general areas are spotless. However, you might meet some small lizards every now and then, but the staff just greeted them as their mascots :) .
Be aware that soundproofing is not of the highest standards in this property. Especially the music from the bars located right beneath the hotel on the stairs leading to Corso Umberto can be heard very clearly in the rooms until midnight/1 am when the music ends (at least in the rooms facing the sea).
There is a centrally controlled aircondition in the hotel, however, it can be turned off individually in the rooms. The airconditioning equipment in the rooms are ageing and make irritating flapping sound during the night.
Breakfast is a simple continental type breakfast buffet with breadrolls, ham, salami, cheese, cereals, youghurt, jams/marmalades and sweet croissants + juice, water, coffee and tea. The halfboard dinner included daily 3 options for starters and 2 main course options. You'll have to decide your dinner selection by noon.
The hotel has a wonderful roof top terrace where there is also wifi coverage (you can get the access code from the bar, but only when it is open (3 p.m. - midnight). There is no wifi network coverage elsewhere.
All in all would not hesitate to stay here again!
