The room furnishings are dated but clean and roomy (ours was a "superior double"). No in-room ammenities aside from a tiny TV (who cares?), a hair dryrer, soap, shampoo, towels, linens, pillows (xtra pillows and linens in the closet). A small balcony that provides a wonderful view overlooking Taoromina, the bay, and Etna. Free bus service takes you to the beach (3 pick-ups in the morning and 3 in the afternoon). The beach fee is 7 euro per person - this includes a welcoming fruit drink, an umbrella, towels if needed and a beach recliner. Breakfast was routine but enough to get you moving -- although a menu was offered once, I never saw it again after the first day. The price was very reasonable but as everyone has mentioned the STEPS can't be ignored! It's great exercise! (That's the nicest thing I can say). Not so much at 1:00 in the morning after a concert at the Teatro Greco, but hey... you can get a taxi if you need it. Also be aware the hotel itself is multi-tiered and there are a lot of steps inside it as well - this is NOT a handicap friendly hotel in any manner. To end on a good note, the price was very reasonable, the staff was very helpful, the beach was our second home and the food, wine and local population can't be beat - screw the steps! It's worth it!
