We stayed at Villa Carlotta in early April 2010. This hotel is probably the nicest place I have ever stayed. From the impecable yet relaxed friendly service to the devinely comfortable room with exquisite views... the whole feel of this place is truly beyond compare.
One of the most memorable things about this hotel was the breakfast. About 5 buffet tables filled with house prepared culinary delights! One table for cereals and fruits/yoghurts ets; one for breads; one for cheeses and cold cuts; a huge one for pastries and tarts; another for savouries eg frittata, bacon, eggplant parmigiana! Yes, i got very used to some eggplant for breakfast. Delicious! And all served in the stunning restaurant on the top floor with sweeping mediterranean views!

I still think and dream of our devine stay here, and can't help but compare every other place I ever stay with Villa Carlotta. I'm afraid that the only downside is that this hotel will ruin your future stays at anywhere that doesn't meet their standard.

Our stay in one of the apartments offered by Hotel Carlotta was excellent. Beautiful apartment, extraordinary view! We traveled with another couple and stayed in the two bedroom apartment which had a lovely living room and kitchen area as well as two separate bathrooms. We couldn't have been happier. One of the best parts of the stay was the attention that we were paid by Riccardo, the concierge. The actual hotel was closed when we were there (January), but he was there every day to provide us with maps and suggestions for touring, dining, and sharing info about the local culture. He also came immediately to the apartment whenever we didn't know how to work something (like the satellite TV), shower jets, etc. and was available by phone at all times to answer questions. The apartment is an easy walk into the center of the town.

It was terrific; lovely room, bathroom etc. And splendid service. Wonderful in fact. And great food.

Villa Carlotta was our first stop in Sicily. We and another couple stayed there for 3 nights and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. From the moment we arrived we were taken care of. They parked our car for us and organised our luggage. We were taken upstairs to the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and Mount Etna and we were given prosecco and Sicilian cake. We had junior suites that were large, spacious, well appointed, clean and with lovely views. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were always friendly, helpful and polite without being intrusive. They organised our trip to the beach and we were given bags with beach towels and a driver to take us and bring us home. We looked forward to our breakfast each morning to see the beautiful colourful smorgasbord of fresh food that was on offer. We had a very pleasant dinner at the hotel one night but as we were only a short walk away from the town we ventured out for the other two nights. The pool was small but plenty big enough and with lots of chairs for everyone to relax. There were a few steps down to the pool so maybe not good for somebody with mobility problems. We were definitely sad to leave.
